Eden Fletcher, 12, second year, seer
Appearance:
Build/height-a gangly 5'9 and still growing.
General Description- Emery has always been a pretty boy, much to his dismay. Thankfully his blond hair has darkened to a light brown with only a few streaks of blond in the summer. His eyes are a vary pale blue, as if someone added only a drop of the lightest blue on his eyes. During the school year he wears his hair long and at an angle as a small defiance to his grandparents. Unlike most teenage boys he takes care of his clothes. While he does not like the stiff shirts, slacks and designer clothes his grandparents have purchased for him he does not have it in him to ruin the clothes. He knows what it is like not to have new clothes for several years. He is a tall lanky boy who is still growing. Sometimes he finds himself hunching over to appear shorter. Muscles are just forming and he is beginning to fill out his stick like frame.
Possessions-[/] A crumpled photo graph of his parents when they first met, a picture of his entire family taken a few days after his youngest sister was born, and a picture of his siblings before Emery and Eden went off to school.
Personality:
Temperment/Mental Attributes-
Emery is a serious boy who keeps to himself. He isn't shy per say but unsure of himself and far to busy. he has no time for fools but all the time in the world for children. Emery is distrustful of people, especially those who believe they are better than others. He keeps his emotions inside until they burst out. The Ice Prince, cold fish, frozen blood, are just a few names Emery has been called because of his lack of emotion. Expressing emotion to anyone but his sisters for Emery is difficult. Fear of being a fool locks his mouth, he is unsure of himself, having little confidence in himself and his judgments. A matter-of-fact tone and quiet reserve hides his low self esteem, apprehensiveness about himself and great sympathy. He dislikes the rich, having to take orders from them as if he were beneath him because his father was poor. there is a quite charm about him, that typically goes under noticed.

Strengths/Weaknesses-
Strengths: His ability to understand people and their problems is a great asset. He can attack another person's problem with a practicality he does not use in his own.
Weakness:
Perfectionist: Emery can get distracted by too much detail, which hinders his progress sometimes. Everything has to be perfect. It's a compulsion he developed when he entered his grandparent's household, or so he thought. As a small child he tried to do everything just so to please his mother. When things do not go as plan, or are not perfect he gets discouraged.
emotion: Emery feels too much, too deeply and so he hides from his feelings. He cannot walk past a person who is ailing, especially if he believes it is in someway his fault. As a child when ever his mother felt sick, he did as well not because he was but because he sensed she was ill. Emery is very in tune to others suffering, he has difficultly in tuning it out.
Uncertain: Emery lacks self confidence and is often uncertain about his ideas. While he is considered smart he doesn't believe and still acts like being placed in Ravenclaw was a fluke. He questions his answers, often rechecking his work and saying his ideas in questions rather than statements.

History-
Emery is the oldest of three children. To understand his early life one must understand his parents. Chantey-Marie Ashcroft was the perfect little Pureblood Princess. She was part of the perfect family a working politician father, a lovely housewife mother, a son and a daughter. Hardship was a foreign concept to the spoiled child. Her every wish was fulfilled by her house elf nanny Minny. The very cute angelic child began modeling at the tender age of five. The camera loved her, pushing her out of her shy self. Chantey-Marie grew up in the public eye, her father was undersecretary to the minister, then deputy prime minister. By the time she entered the fifth year at Hogwarts her father was a shoe in for Prime Minister. A meek person by nature she lived to please people. She was prim and proper and her soft smile and family status won her many friends. While she had everything she was far from happy. The pureblood Princess was extremely lonely. That changed when she met a young groom the summer before her fifth year.
Avery Fletcher was everything that Chantey-Marie was not. The oldest boy of seven children (most with different fathers) he was the breadwinner. His mother did the best she can being a squib with little schooling. She worked as a waitress at the leaky cauldron and an exotic dancer at a muggle club at night. Avery resented the rich thinking them all airheads. Until Chantey that is. The pair formed an unlikely friendship, bonding over magical horses. Avery's talent was with magical creatures and he worked during the summers as a groom at a magical horse ranch that Chantey-Marie visited most summers.
Eventually the two fell in love despite their different backgrounds. Avery tried his hardest to fight his attraction to the younger princess of pure. Her parents found out about him and forbade their daughter to see him. The usually compliant Chantey rebelled. As soon as she finished her seventh year she eloped with Avery, already three months pregnant with Emery.
Chantey was disowned by her parents, her monthly allowance was cut. For a few months she earned money by modeling but after a while no one wanted a very pregnant woman on their covers. The pair lived in a small apartment, barely getting by.
Their life was not the easiest but they loved each other and loved their son Emery. The pair fought constantly but made up often. Elianora is the proof of how well they made up. When the little girl got sick at four months old, the trouble really began. By that time the couple had moved in with Avery's mother to help take care of his younger siblings and off set the cost of living. Desperate to heal her daughter, Chantey-Marie wrote to her parents. They did not respond. When she tried to make contact directly they refused to listen. Angry and prideful Chantey-Marie did not contact her parents for several more years. Avery began to deal with some shady characters to earn enough money for Elianora's medical bills. The little girl eventually lost her sight but was healthy. For a time Avery stopped dealing but was soon back into the shady life when Chantey gave birth to Eden. Emery was five at the time and a pro at changing diapers and entertaining babies. Eden was born nearly four months early, a tiny sickly child.
Emery was a serious little boy who learned the meaning responsibility quite young. He did not play for himself but for his sisters, entertaining Elianora and then Eden with stories and songs. He was happy with his parents, ignoring their constant fighting. His happy but meager life change dramatically when he was seven.
His father was in over his head and in the end it cost him his life. Chantey-Marie had been caught in the fight and was terribly wounded. She later died in St. Mungo's. The story of her death made the papers. The world mourned the former first daughter and the bright light she had been. Her mother came to collect the children the day the magical social workers were to take them away from Avery's mother. The woman had finally overcome her pride. Her grandchildren were the only thing she had left of her daughter.
Emery went from changing diapers and warming up bottles to nothing to do in a span of hours. His worn raggy clothes were now form fitting preppy attire he was not use to. His hair was washed and cut and his manners corrected. At first the serious little boy rebelled. He missed his old life, the structure, the way things were. He use to know what was expected of him, what he needed to do. In the too large house, he was lost. Eventually he learned the new rules. The proper way to behave, how not to cause a scene.
He made few friends, unsure of how to interact with children his age. He spent more time with his sisters than anything else. Eventually his hogwarts letter came and his stodgy grandparents let go a sigh of relief. Not once had Emery shown any magical aptitude while little Eden glowed with talent.
School was strange for Emery. Too many loud noises, laughing children, teasing. He did not understand teasing and was far too unsure of himself to try it. He was smart but ill-at-ease keeping his thoughts to himself. He rarely answers question in class and detests being called upon. He was sorted into Ravenclaw because of his ability to see every angle. While he rarely spoke his teachers were impressed with is writing, while his spell work could use a bit more refining. Potions was what he was good at, his eye for detail fully in use. He can be found in the potions room working after class.
Emery was the happiest, the most open when he is with his sisters. The first year away from them was the hardest. He did not want to return to Hogwarts after Christmas vacation. His pleas to stay home fell on deaf ears. His grandparents did not understand this quite child. Not like Hogwarts? That's absurd.
Emery floated through Hogwarts barely interacting with students. His friends were older Ravenclaws who enjoyed his more mature countenance, or professors. He made few friends and few enemies. When a student in his year was asked about him they replied Emery who?
During his sixth year, his youngest sister, Eden joined him at Hogwarts. At first everything was going well. Emery showed Eden around, watching over her but it was a challenge do to their being in separate houses. Still, he was proud of his little sister and hovered over her the best he could. It wasn't the year he thought it was going to be though. While he expected Eden to make her own friends he didn't think it would hurt so much when she began to spend every waking moment with Max Kameren. Eden no longer needed his help and he couldn't prevent the feeling of displacement it caused him. The year was rather uneventful for Emery. He had several crushes but couldn't find the nerve to act. Now that it is summer Emery is more than a little apprehensive. He realized that he doesn't know who he is or what he wants to do with his life. He has a year before he is thrust into the adult world and he is terrified that he will fail and will have to depend on his wealthy grandparents for support. His insecurity has made him a prime mark for dark witches who seek meek people such as himself for tasks.

"They are intellectually enquiring, methodical and logical, studious and teachable. They combine mental ingenuity with the ability to produce a clear analysis of the most complicated problems. They have an excellent eye for detail but they may be so meticulous that they neglect larger issues. Because of their ability to see every angle of a many-sided question, they are unhappy with abstract theorizing. Appreciating the many different points of view as they do, they find philosophical concepts difficult, and they vacillate and have no confidence in any conclusions at which they arrive."
