Maebh knew all about charming someone to get them to bend to your will. Her living had been garnered by making people believe her stories, luring them into the performance and back again. She who had dated many a man was actually charmed by this simple spell smith and his sweet, natural persona. He was so real it was touching. A mixture of dichotomies, so much so that he drew her in. She was curious and genuinely wanted to get to know this man. That did not happen often. His analysis of her little show warmed her jaded soul. A show had always been about entertainment. Not peace. Hmm a little bit of peace, might make a good advertisement.
"Does your cousin really call you Mas?" Maebh asked a smile evident in her voice. Her close friends call her V because of the v sound of her name.
His explanation made sense. She even admired him for it. Here was a man who did a dangerous job and used his brain not his muscles. Slender fingers gently took the muggle watch. Maebh examined it, turning the cool metal between her fingers. It was a fine piece of metal. She had come to love muggle items through her travels. Often times her family landed on muggle land and they had to blend in.
"I think I understand. I mean it makes sense." Maebh said as they continued to walk.
Then he surprised her again by offering a complete stranger the use of his home. He really was a man from a different time. A more simpler place that believed in the good of everyone.
" I'm tired of moving. We'll be here until the itch to travel again rekindles. You're very kind. If the apothecary idea takes root here then maybe I shall look into a store front. For now though we like living in our wagon. It is much bigger than it appears...." She said trailing when she spotted what looked like a large dog at first.
Maebh stiffened at the sight of the large wolf like creature. She glanced at the sky and cursed when she saw the full moon. They were both idiots to have left without their wands. The large dog-wolf sat there staring at them. Doing absolutely nothing which gave the creature the impression that it was a statute. Surely if it was more than a wolf-dog it would attack?
"Do you think it is a were wolf?" Maebh whispered, not wanting to startle the creature.

Ralin's keen eyes picked out the two figures, a man and a gypsy woman walking slowly towards the Shrieking Shack. Moonlight picked out details in silver; the watch in her slender fingers, the stud glittering at his ear. They hadn't noticed him yet, and he hoped he wouldn't disturb their pleasant walk. Though why they wanted to go to the Shack was beyond him. Maybe the man was showing the gypsy the sights of the town?
Blistered basilisk, she's spotted me, Ralin grumbled to himself. Now she'd probably scream and the man would chase Ralin away with a few hexes, probably to impress his lady friend. Tensing, he searched the woman's face. She looked alarmed, but so far no angry spells were shrieking his way.
Maybe I can pass myself off as a cuddly stray... Ralin mused. Sure, because massive wolf-dog things wander around here a lot. Great idea, O'Faerlun. You're bound to get scorched fur instead. But then...maybe he could be fluffy and cute enough for the woman to coo over. So long as they didn't try to adopt him or call him Fido.
Slowly rising to his paws, the werewolf wagged his tail slowly, putting his ears down and letting his tongue loll out. He tried to widen his green eyes to a cute factor of 9. Think cuddly... he coached himself as he slowly crept forward. He tried perking his ears and tilting his head to the side, wagging his tail more. His front paws brushed against a stick, and suddenly he grabbed it in his jaws, tossed it in the air, caught it, and chased his tail in victory. He then dropped the stick and looked at the couple again with wide puppy eyes.

Sam failed to hide the smile the crept to his face at Maebh's mention of staying a little while longer. He wasn't sure how long an "itch" took, but the thought of having an opportunity to see this gorgeous spirit again overruled his focus on wartcap powder. Suddenly, she was the only thing he could think about. Sam clenched his jaw tightly, remembering something his father once said to him:
"You will always love, Pwca, but the feeling is entirely different when you find the extension of your soul. Suddenly, you won't remember a thing and speech will be one snake of a hurdle. It will be as though you learned nothing from your studies, except the words 'pretty,' 'amazing,' and 'oh merlin.'"
"You are pretty...um, you are pretty amazing. I mean...Oh Merlin. I, I hope you stay. I think you and your family could do a lot of good here." Sam inwardly berated himself until Maebh's alertness snapped him from his thoughts. He instantly followed her gaze to the subject of her concern, wondering how he could be so careless in dropping his guard. He had made a promise to protect her - he wanted to protect her and here they had walked aimlessly in to a trap.
Sam wrapped large arms around Maebh and held her in close, using his body as a barrier between her and the wolf.
"You're right. Good spotting, V. Don't make a sound."
V. Like you know her enough to call her that, Sam.
Why did he insist on leaving his wand. It was the most reckless form of chivalry ever. Sam was about to run after the creature when the werewolf beat him to it. With a strange progression from stillness to animation, the wolf approached the pair with an odd dance that reminded Sam of a slightly sappy little dog.
"Um, okay. I think, I think your performance tonight may have brought peace to the werewolf too. Is it just me, or is he playing fetch with himself? I'm somewhat concerned that I don't feel more alarmed."

A silly smile filled with happiness and giddy emotion lit up Maebh's face. There was something wonderful about meeting a new man. It had been a while sine Maebh had dated last and while she had not been looking for someone she was not going to dismiss this gift. Just maybe she could find a companion with this man. He was not bad looking, sweet and well slightly old fashion. There was something about him that drew her to him. She found herself wanting to know more and that had not happened in quite a while.
Sam's compliments were lost on Maebh for her attention was fixed on the wolf like creature. In the back of her mind she registered the compliment and was inwardly dancing. no matter how many people told her she was pretty it felt like the first time. thud, thud, thud-thud-thud Maebh's pulse began to race as she realized that it was a werewolf in front of her. Then suddenly Maebh found herself encased in the strong arms of Sam. Maebh glanced at him her expression soft. This stranger offered her protection and assurance without hesitation. It was a rare thing in this world. The danger of the evening kept Mae from losing her head, although she did wrap her own arms around him. Together they watched the wolf and a half startled chuckle burst through Maebh.
"It's trying to be cute and very successful I might add." She whispered back, only slightly moved by the wolf. It was a good act but a season performer like Maebh could spot a show.
"I think it's a young wolf. Lonely maybe? I wonder where his parents are."

Ralin chased his tail again, his sharp ears never missing a sound from the couple, or the hurried beat of their hearts in anxiety but also with emotion for each other. Oh frink it, I've ruined their evening. He berated himself inwardly. But they do seem nice...
At the man's comment Ralin nearly chuckled aloud, instead it came out as a bark. He already liked him, with his sense of humor, and his heart was touched by the man's instinctive and tender protection over her. He wanted to reassure them that they weren't in danger.
So when the gypsy woman commented on him being alone, he made a snap decision. He leaped forward, planted a slobbery kiss on both of them with his big wet tongue, and then firmly pushed his big furry head under the woman's hand, wagging his tail fiercely.
Come on Ralin, charm the stink outta 'em, he giggled inside. This was actually fun! And maybe he could find out their names, and when the moon was set, maybe tomorrow he could search them out, apologize for the fright, and properly introduce himself.
He nudged her hand again, but part of him cringed, wondering if the man would proceed to blast him with his wand for his affront.

{OOC: If Sam were a real man, he might look upon Ralin the Werewolf's puppy love and comment: "Great. I'm alone with a pretty girl on an empty street and the only kiss exchanged is with a dog."}
* * * * * * * * * *
Sam looked down at Maebh and momentarily idolized her with his expression. He cherished a gentle spirit and V embodied it heart and soul. Most everyone else would see the werewolf and be frightened; Maebh saw the dog and wondered if it was alone. She wore her values on her multi-coloured sleeve.
Sam was about to say something to this effect when he was drowned in canine saliva. The playful werewolf had managed to sneak his massive paws on to the man's shoulders and lick him. While the residue of such an act was uncomfortable, Sam thanked All Hallow's Witches that it was not the spit of a centaur, which he was horribly allergic to.
"Okay, okay, sport," he cooed gently as he helped the werewolf down. It was awfully cute, even for a moon-bred beast, and Sam felt a little soft for it since it appeared the energy of the wolf had not yet mastered its size. It was..."floppy" and ever so slightly awkward.
Sam watched as the wolf found a home beneath Maebh's hand. This made him smile.
"Two of us can't be wrong, Maebh. You have the touch. Spot here feels it too." Sam reached down to scratch the werewolf's upper haunches, looking around for any sign of others. "So if this is a trap and we're about to be dinner, I take solace in knowing that I spent the last few seconds of my life with you, petting a dog." He grinned wryly and pointed towards the distant fire of the Brenadan camp. "Maybe we should head back and see if we can find him some water."
