What would you like to see on the site? Games? Competitions? A Halloween party? Awesome fun things? Posting ranks? Things you can earn by posting/reaching a certain rank?

Competitions! Maybe writing prompts, or a crazy threads challenge? or a challenge about using a certain word the most in a post, or a thread challenge about one concept.  there could be prizes! Edit: I also read about this idea on RPG C... a muse station? people could contribute ideas about how to progress with threads and stuff... I sometimes just get so mired in schoolwork that post ideas just disappear from my mind. |

I love all of your ideas. Perhaps a prize could be your character featured in the banner? I know everyone likes competitions. I'd like to see the crazy threads one, OOC would be fun, IC would be flippin' hilarious.

GUYS: what would be your input on a system that would include rewards for your character (promotion, spending money, cool toys (Brooms?), etc?) as well as 'random' things to happen to them? (sickness, injury, win a contest, being attacked, etc?) and what would you suggest?

Oooh I like all of these ideas!
Nuri the random events thing sounds cool but how would it happen? Is there a way they could just periodically appear on individuals screens or would they be dolled out through pms?
We could have ones like, see a gypsy steal something and you report it, three kunts for upstanding moral character.

We could have a list. I don't know, appearing on a person's screen, like a pop-up? (like the PM notification -you have a new PM- ?) that would require quite some coding, wouldn't it?

Coding... yes I think so. Another HP site I'm on has these random events that just appear on a person's screen randomly and vanish when they click away to a new link

I remember that in one HP site, they had this NPC account named Fate that would periodically announce that a certain event happened to someone's character. It was done by batch, around once or twice a month, and nobody knew who would be affected by it. XD --> i like rewards! there are money codes and stuff that are available in proboards support, i think.  and nuri, i am just a random lurker in rpg c... hehehe |

Hm, what do you suggest, Amara? Maebh? What do you have in mind, what would you like to see, a IC and OOC store of sorts? (graphics, things for your character IC, cool things?)

I once belonged to a rpg site that the in character wealth of a character was determined by how much a person posted. For every post they got a certian amount of money, and they could spend it in character like for brooms, text books etc. It worked okay. |

Yup. Like, for example there would be a post entitled "Fate's Decrees" and then there would be a list of people who would like to throw their characters to fate. Then Fate would either pm them or put in a post what happened to their characters. Maybe their parents died, or their financial situation changed, or one of the student characters got a new baby brother. Life events and stuff.
Yeah! That's usually how the money system works. There's a certain amount that could be had for each post made, and the admins could also manually add or deduct points. There's also a shop system where members could make shops and buy or sell things. We could do that manually though, set up shops and then the admins would be the ones changing the money each character had.
I remember that in the original Incendio, we had a vault for each character. I forgot what it was used for though... :/

I think all of these ideas are WICKED RAD and I love that Fate had an account: How 2010. Next year's trend: Faith. If it wouldn't be so graphic overload, having "rewards" as items in a person's signature would be cool (Elle, kind of like the small amethyst graphic that Sam sent Maebh), but maybe a way around it is to have gem like graphics in a person's signature that tell others of their status/accomplishments. Example (imagining each with a color gem): [green] purchased real estate in hogsmeade [red] @ st. mungos in critical condition [blue] currently under arrest [yellow] won 15 house points for hufflepuff [white] befriended nuriko elswyth Think of it like eagle scout badges. A black gem could be reserved for admins to impose (a la Fate) on members. Eg. [black] suddenly in possession of a dark artefact. |

The more we discuss this idea the better I like it. We staff will have to commit to this, as will the members. I remember that as well, but I think instead of vaults we’ll just find a code that will put the amount in the profiles as you post. Members: What do you think of your characters having to have the money to buy stuff IC? Or would you rather spend it for OOC goodies? (And some IC stuff that’s hard to get? Special abilities, pets, life events, cool toys?) Perhaps we could arrange something like that, Amara? Do you have any suggestions for this? What is this code, can you expand more on it?
