It was quiet in the small room off of the back of the church where she had been stashed when her little group had arrived. Her aunt had helped her into her dress, eyes sparkling with unshed tears. Elle had been dashing around with her typical intense energy. It was all Arianna could do but watch.
She had dreamed of this day for a long time. Now, she just wanted it over. A twist of her hair, a simple dress, some swipes of makeup and let her walk down the aisle. The wedding needed to happen before Kristopher Curse Kameren came to the stupid realization that he was inflicting some kind of life sentence on her. Or living up to his middle name. Which she knew for a fact he wasn't. But the stubborn man would not see it her way. It was hard enough to get him to agree to actually go through with the wedding. Oh, he loved her a lot. Which was why he wavered. He had a limited time left in the world of life. That was obvious but Arianna did not think it was a burden tying herself to a man who knew that he would die sooner than later.
She bit her lip, worried that Kris would call the whole thing off in order to save her. If he did she would hex every inch of him, muggles be damn. She almost got up from her seat, wedding dress and all to make sure he wasn't going to back out but she didn't. She trusted him. He would not leave her at the alter. He couldn't back out now. Not out of her life nor the wedding.
This was their life and they deserved happiness and she was determined to see that he got a bit of it. A rap on the door had Ari standing up in her long ivory dress. The door opened to reveal her father. Elle and her aunt had already gone outside some time ago.
"Ready?" He asked her, all dapper in a muggle suit. Hesitantly, Arianna approached him, unable to speak around the lump in her throat. Her Daddy was here. It was strange to think of him that way. He'd been out of her life for so long. It was still odd to see him.
Together, she and her father walked out of the holding room. Butterflies in her stomach fluttered in time to the music that swelled out of the main church room. When the doors opened and Arianna could see Kris at the head of the church nothing else mattered. A breath she didn't know she was holding escaped her and she beamed.
There really was no one else in the room but Kris. Later, Arianna wouldn't be able to say what the room looked like or who was in attendance for the actual ceremony. She only saw Kris. When she got to the alter she noticed the others. Arianna grinned briefly at Max and gave Eden the bouquet of flowers.
Gracefully, Arianna stepped besides Kris. She shot him a wicked grin when she offered him her up turned hand.
"Shall we do this?" She said only to him. This was their moment that she would never regret.
