Alex was up and about early, he had gotten little rest over the course of the night. Today was his wedding day. He was going to marry the most wonderful woman in the world and he was so jittery with nerves he wondered how he would get through his vows. He just knew that he'd stumble and stutter. That was, if he was able to speak at all. Bollocks.
He splashed cold water on his face and inspected himself in the mirror. It wasn't a pretty sight. Not nearly as bad as his brother's, but he had his fair share of scars. Most of them crossed his arms and body, but a few crossed his face. He was only 27 but the life of an auror did not lend itself to safety.
"Master, its time to get up--" A house elf poked his head into the room, trailing off when he saw Alex already awake. He was dressed sharply, ready for the wedding already. None of Alex's elves were slaves. Once he'd returned to the Estate, they had started arriving, returning from only Merlin knew where. He'd taken care to give clothing to each and every one.
"I... nn..knoww Glee." Alex turned to the wardrobe as Glee disappeared to finish preparing for the wedding. Alex pulled out his dress robes and began getting ready.

October 2024
Hell had frozen over.
It was the thought that kept dancing through Elle's mind. It couldn't be more fanciful than the notion that she was marrying Alex Kameren. But she was marrying him. Or at least that was what the very pretty wedding invitation she was staring at said.
Eloise Alyssum Callahan and Alecsander Malice Kameren cordially invite you to their wedding at the Kameren Estate on October the 21st 2024.
However, this could all be an elaborate dream. Yes, she could have a nasty head injury and have been in a coma for years. In that time, her wounded mind could have comforted her with this elaborate world she created where all of her dreams came true. After all who would really think that Alex Kameren, six foot three hero, be in love with a midget.
The soft kick in her belly reminded Elle that it was not a dream. Dreams did not physically cause pain. Not that the kick hurt. It was just a tap really but it oddly settled her nerves. This was not an illusion. It was real. By Merlin's beard she was marrying the love of her life. For some reason or another it had all worked out. He loved her back. The proof was in her slightly swollen belly.
For a second, Elle wondered if they were selfish fools. What right did she and Alex have bringing a child into the world. It hadn't been planned. Of course Elle wanted kids but she would have gladly waited a few years. She wanted to make more medical discoveries and merlin knew that Alex was terrified. He was an auror for bloody sakes. It wasn't a good week at work if he hadn't been in danger at least ten times.
Ready or not they were going to be parents in about six months. Elle had a lot of work ahead of her if they were going to be ready. Alex was bad enough with the wedding. He had been all tied up about it. Oh he wanted to marry her well enough but he hadn't the slightest clue what went into a wedding. While Elle had dreamed of a wedding since she was a little girl, when it came to hers, truth be told she also was at a lost.
From the first she knew she wanted it outside. On the estate. Elle looked out the large window in the guest room she'd been borrowing. The grounds were immense and lovely. She'd fallen in love with the crazy old house that had seen so much pain. Now though she was determined to fill it with joy. One little Kameren at a time.
Elle grinned at the thought of filling the with people. It would probably make some of the old pureblood snobs flop in their graves.
A knock at the door, knocked Elle out of her musings.
"Come in," She called as she glanced at the clock. Her eyes widened at the time. It was later than she thought and she had so much to do. Elle's hair was a tangled mess of knotted curls and she was still in her night gown.

“ELLE” Nuri squealed, throwing herself at her friend. “Its about bloody time!” She let the older woman go, holding her by the shoulders and looking her over. “I swear, for the longest time you two were impossible.” She shook her head.
“You’re not going to do like this. You’d better get in and take a bath. Alex has plenty of time, but it always takes forever to get the bride ready. I’ll do your hair when you come out. Hurry up.” She pushed Elle towards the bathroom, shooing her. “I already asked Holly to bring up breakfast. Now shoo!” Riko waved her arms.

ooc: Violet as flower girl?
"Papa! PapapapapapapaNO!" Violet shrieked with laughter as she kicked, tiny feet beating against her father's chest as he kneeled against the couch. She was bound and determined to leave the house without shoes, apparently, and the babbling two-year-old was remarkably stubborn.
"Vi, please, Uncle Alex is waiting for us." Curse managed to gently catch a foot in mid-swing and slip a small black patent-leather shoe onto it. The shrieking laughter stopped as Curse watched his daughter struggle to pull the shoe off. He took advantage of the situation to slip the other shoe onto her foot. Round emerald green eyes pouted up at him. He smiled back.
"Aren't you excited? You get to be part of Alex and Elle's wedding!"
"Yes," she continued pouting, squirming when Curse scooped her up in his arms.
"Well, you need shoes to be in the wedding." A defiant whine resonated into Curse's shoulder and he laughed.
Max would be flooing in from his mum's to watch Violet while Curse and Arianna helped his brother and their old friend get married. But, in the meantime, the two parents were on shifts. Arianna had taken the early morning (as Violet was prone to waking up well before the sun came up), and Curse now had the late morning until Max could relieve him. He relished time with his daughter even in such hectic circumstances, though; with their new home finished far away from his duties at Hogwarts, Curse was struggling to keep up with his competing lives.
Curse frowned a bit at the thought before grabbing a handful of floo powder, and ducked into the fireplace with his daughter clutched to his chest. "The Kameren Estate."
FFFFWOOOSH.
"GLEE!" Violet ripped herself out of her father's hands when he set her down on the ground and waddled happily towards the Kameren Estate's most friendly elf, her red curls bouncing with her sloppy steps. Besides Max, Glee was Violet's favorite playmate. She wrapped her arms around the elf in a tight hug. The two were great friends, a perfect size for each other. Glee chuckled and hugged her, holding her hand when she stepped back.
"Master Alex is in the master bedroom, Master Kris." Curse nodded, kneeling down to kiss Violet on the head before she toddled after Glee and Curse headed up to the bedroom.
Curse stood next to the door of the bedroom, knocking politely before leaning on the doorframe. Curse was happy for his brother on this wonderful day, but a bit worried for him at the same time. Events like this were hard on his speech. "How are you doing?"

The door opened and a blur of movement launched at Elle. For a second it was like a giant puppy or toddler rushed through the door, but it was Nuri. A tinkling laugh escaped Elle as she was suddenly enveloped in a tight hug. She squeeze back as best she could but she was rather pinned beneath the taller person.
Elle grinned in agreement when Nuri stated it was about bloodly time because in truth it was. For a while there even Elle herself thought she was pinning away for Alex for naught. It seemed she'd been in love with him half her life and he barely noticed her. Now, she knew that wasn't the case. He was just shy, and well a slower learner. It was damn thick Kameren, I-need-know-one mentality that had been instilled in him. She didn't blame him of course, Cedric Kameren was a wack job and certainly did a number on his children.
“I swear, for the longest time you two were impossible.”
"No, we were--" on second thought, Elle stopped speaking. They had been a bit impossible. For the longest time they both denied their true feelings for each other, even when they had that weird limbo relationship. Sometimes, Elle still thought that she and Alex got together by chance than really anything else.
Now shoo!”
"Am I this commanding to my trainees?" Elle demanded as she did what she was told and headed to the attached bath.
Thirty minutes later, Elle emerged with dripping wet hair and a fluffy robe. She never had been very good with hair and other girly things.
"Umm what should we do with this?" She asked holding out a sopping wet dark strand that was semi straight because of the wetness.

Alex had just shrugged into his white shirt, trying to avoid looking too long at the extensive scarring on his arms and shoulders, ignoring the tightness of the largest, most knarled. Usually Elle helped him rub ointment into them, to help soften the tissue. Even after several years they still pulled uncomfortably. Supposedly the ointment was supposed to help. Usually it did.
He had just buttoned the first button, moving up to the next button with nervous fingers, when Curse knocked on the door. Of course, the door was open, and so he entered easily.
"How are you doing?"
Alex managed another four buttons before he replied. “…nNot aas ..bad. As you.” Curse had been a right mess on his wedding day, but he’d gotten through it. They all had. Just as Alex had to get through this. It was simple. But yet, so hard. He finished the buttons, raising his chin slightly to get the last one before adjusting his collar.
Maybe if he didn’t talk, he would be able to say his vows right.
