Zahara was sitting in the vast library, for once doing school work properly and not in between classes like normal. Some may say she was settling down, but she would just laugh at that. There was no taming the party animal she was. Or getting rid of her quirk of carrying a bottle of firewhiskey in the bottom of her school bag. Not many knew of that though. Only a few did, those few were the ones that seen her either go for it or drink it then put it back in her bag.
She had a book out on the table open and another to the side opened as well with her parchment unrolled in front of her and her bottle of hot pink ink set out opened. A large black quill was in hand as she wrote across the paper in her neat almost calligraphic like script. Normally on a day she would study properly she'd check the books out and got to the grounds to do her work but the November month had the days growing chilly and even though a bit of cold didn't bother her the chill in the breeze did.
Her school bag was on the ground beside her open the contents exposed. Her hair was in a ponytail a few strands falling into her face. Her blue, purple hued eyes scanned the page of the book, reading the printed text. The colder weather that was slowly rolling in was making her have to dress less out of her usual style. not that she didn't wear jeans or t-shirts under hoodies. Because she did but in the warmer months she was known for showing skin.
Wearing faded boot cut jeans, converse sneakers, a white star graphic tee, and a black zip up hoodie she tapped her nails on the table and sighed. Blinked her Smokey shadow lids finally closing them for a moment she slouched back in her seat. She wasn't much for studying but school was school. and school required studying and for her it meant long periods of random yet often cramming because of her partying nature and not book worm nature.
Setting her quill in the ink pot she muttered,
"Why do they have to give us homework?" WORDCOUNT:: 377 THEOUTFIT:: click here TAGGEDFOR:: nuri, open COMMENTS:: n.a

Nuriko was researching werewolves. And demons. And curses. And she was checking out some novels. Not for homework, but just for the information. She had a stack of books so high that she couldn’t look over it, so she made two piles. They were quickly too-tall again. It didn’t help things that the beater’s torso was stocky, not tall, and she was short.
The stack slipped this way and that as she put them down at the end of a table, and she spent some time restacking and reorganizing, before she dropped into a chair, legs stretched under the table and crossed at the ankles. She was wearing the school uniform robes, not all that concerned with changing. She didn’t have any more classes for the day, but what did that matter?
She cracked open a dusty volume on werewolves. It wasn’t a dry informational book, though the cover and dust were forbidding. It was actually a brilliantly illustrated book of lore. The illustrations moved as the Ravenclaw moved her fingers across the paintings.
"Why do they have to give us homework?"
“Soo… we can learn?” She spoke slowly, as if to someone with low comprehension. Her green eyes looked up at the other end of the table in amusement. Her trademark bright blue hair was spiked, as usual.

Zahara hadn't been speaking to anyone but the thin air around her when she heard someone plop down at the other end of the table and crack open a dusty old volume as they responded with the worst yet most obvious answer.
"Why yes I am aware of the learning process but we got that covered in class. Telling us to read would be find and dandy then they could quiz us to make sure we read it instead of telling us to write from books till our damn hands cramp up."
She looked up from the pending school work at the girl. It was the ravenclaw student, Nuriko or Nuri ask she sometimes went by. Eyeing all the books the ravenclaw had she spoke,
"Please tell me thats not homework. If so I do feel bad for you."
Zahara looked down at her bag before digging in it and dragging out the capped bottle of firwhiskey she had cracked open earlier that morning. Sometime between her morning shower and getting dressed. She took a long drink straight from the bottle and held it in her hand for a moment as she looked at it. Hoping no first years were picking up her dirty habits early. Not that she cared as she wasn't exactly a good cookie at a younger age and she had probably just gotten worse since.
As she took another drink from it she looked at the close to half bottle of liquid and capped it before sliding it back into the cubby hole it had previously resided in before her need of a drink. Going back to her work for a moment she frowned slightly at the fact she was nowhere near done with the assignment.
Apparently no matter how much she chided herself about doing homework and not partying and waiting till last minute to do assignments, she always ended up at a party and coming back drunk and then waking up with a hangover after passing out in the early morning hours. Scratching her head she looked back at the stack of books the ravenclaw girl had,
"So what kind of paper wasters do you have?"
She asked referring to the books. She liked books and she liked reading but some books usually the academic ones were considered paper wasters to her. WORDCOUNT:: 388 THEOUTFIT:: click here TAGGEDFOR:: nuri, open COMMENTS:: it sure seems like i typed more than 388 words.

"Why yes I am aware of the learning process but we got that covered in class. Telling us to read would be find and dandy then they could quiz us to make sure we read it instead of telling us to write from books till our damn hands cramp up."
Nuriko rolled her eyes but ignored the indignant older student. She had much more important things to do than listen to some idiot girl whine about homework. She lifted the book closer to her face, as if to block the other from her line of sight. The Ravenclaw was already regretting sitting at this particular table--she could have gone to her dorm, after all.
"Please tell me thats not homework. If so I do feel bad for you."
Nuriko only glanced over the top of her book, before she returned her gaze to a particularly fascinating illustration showing a full moon and a werewolf in full transformation. She didn’t remove her eyes from the pages as the other girl ‘sneaked’ a drink of her firewhiskey. Nuriko turned a page, changing her eyes thoughtfully.
“You must be trying to get in trouble.” She commented, still not looking at the other girl. “Otherwise you would use a different container, a water bottle, perhaps.”
"So what kind of paper wasters do you have?"
“Obviously nothing you could wrap your tiny bubble-brain around.” Nuriko replied lazily, flipping through a large chunk of the book to reference a certain page.

Zahara had gone back to her school work grudgingly and turned the page of her own book as she wrote on her parchment, continuing the neat calligraphic like script. Apparently the ravenclaw student wasn't going to respond. Sometimes people confused her no matter how well she could read them, and apparently this girl didn't like her. Which didn't surprise her because she herself didn't like the one across from her.
She continued writing at a leisure pace not wanting her handwriting to look sloppy. If there was one thing that annoyed Zahara besides snobs, first years, and blood purist was sloppy handwriting. Looking up momentarily she glanced at the bottle she had stuck back in her bag,
"I've not gotten in trouble yet and I've been carrying one around like that since I was fifteen. Why so worried about me getting caught? Afraid you'll tarnish your most likely sparkly clean record by being in my presence?"
Zahara asked as she sat forward and leaned on the table while raising an eyebrow at the bookworm girl. Looking offended at the girl as she spoke about being a bubble brain she snarled and snapped,
"For you oh so kind information I'm not a bubble brain or bubble head or whatever you call preppy airheads. I ask a simple question about the book you hold, no need to snap. I may have been interested."
She said before reaching across the table to push the book down some to get a look at the page,
"Werewolves, huh? Know someone with a furry little problem?"
She released the book from her fingers and went back to her own work once again turning the page of the book in front of her as she wrote down something else pertaining to her assignment. "I've not gotten in trouble yet and I've been carrying one around like that since I was fifteen. Why so worried about me getting caught? Afraid you'll tarnish your most likely sparkly clean record by being in my presence?"
“I never said I was worried.” Nuriko pointed out, turning another page. Here was an illustration of a normal wolf pack, the adults playing with the young. The caption explained how, like wolves, werewolves were pack animals. The Ravenclaw’s finger stroked a wolf pup, who wiggled and taunted an older wolf with an old bone.
"For you oh so kind information I'm not a bubble brain or bubble head or whatever you call preppy airheads. I ask a simple question about the book you hold, no need to snap. I may have been interested."
“Whatever stops the tears.” Nuriko retorted, glaring at the girl as she pushed down the book. “Be gentle with that, its very old!” She pulled the dusty old volume away. Why had she sat here in the first place?
"Werewolves, huh? Know someone with a furry little problem?"
“A furry little problem. Cute.” Nuriko said icily, returning her book to its former position. “I happen to like learning things. I hope its not too big of a concept to wrap your head around.” She finished a sentence and closed the book. This time she chose to levitate the books, trailing them ahead of her to the librarian’s desk, where she let them down gently. Even so, a puff of dust rose up.
[[And Nuriko's like me, I would have said all of those things, then huffed off to a quieter place to read XD I hope we can do more with them! ]]

Zahara glared at the girl when she snapped back just itching to go for her wand and use a tripping jinx on the girl. So many people where rubbing her the wron way this year. Upon the girls snapping that the book was fragile she snorted,
"The book is fragile? Its called the reparo spell sweetheart. Or is your bookwormed mine to cramped to no such a thing?"
She snapped and watched the girl leave with a smirk as she began whistleing as she stood. Walking past the girl her things in her arms as she one by one shoved them into her bag. She bumped into the girl roughly.
"Oh I'm sorry I must have had my nose in the book."
She said with a smirk as she walked on removing herself from the, library and vincity of the ravenclaw girl. WORDCOUNT:: THEOUTFIT:: click here TAGGEDFOR:: nuri, open COMMENTS:: END THREAD - hope we can do another sometime.
