2020 is nearing a close and once again the Wizarding world is divided. Politics is the hot item this fall as the election nears, with riots over the summer fuelled by the ungodly heat and the politics of the candidates. Acting Minister Jack Harkness’ laws divide the people, instead of bringing them together as intended. Officers of the Law are being fired for refusing to allow their personnel files to be publicly available, and Floo powder is in short supply.
Mothers are pitted against their children, husbands against wives as politics taint not only conversation but the air as well. The closer the Ministry of Magic election draws the darker the tension. Even Hogwarts feels the grasping claws of the political cloud. Students discuss the newest developments over meals, and even intra-house relations are becoming strained.
The Daily Prophet is revelling in the chance to make a fool of the Ministry, printing exposés detailing the idiocy of Minister Harkness and his inability to prevent the ministry form being broken into, protect his people from mysterious attacks by never seen before creatures, and misfiring spells.
Even worse, the public is divided over the “gypsy take over” in Hogsmeade. Eager for a scapegoat, the ministry has labeled the Breandan clan as responsible for the mysterious attacks surrounding the village of Hogsmeade.
Tension between the nomad magical population and the stationary people is increasing. Hostile acts are becoming increasingly common. The world is slowly drifting into distilled chaos. Who will take over the ministry next? Will they be able to prevent more break-ins? Solve the gypsy problem? Or will it only get worse? What will your role be in Incendio Potentialus? **
