Midnight was soon to come which would spark the beginning of her first Class. Sitting in the middle of the floor of the topmost area of the astronomy tower Kassie sat in her wolf form waiting for the students to arrive. Not many had signed up for the Class but she was hoping more would just pop up who didn't get a chance to sign the Roster. The sky was clear not a cloud in the sky and the moon shined brightly casting its glow on the land below as the stars twinkled like little gems stitched into black, purple and navy blue silk. Kassie, or as the students would refer to her as, Professor Bently, or Professor Kassie. Which ever they preferred, cause she wasn't picky watched the door and waited for the Students. Before she had changed into her wolf form though she had written with fire letters that were afloat in mid air in her calligraphic writing:

Midnight. It was fricken’ midnight and Rose was heading to a class. She hadn’t taken astronomy until this year for a reason; it was so she didn’t have to be up late going to a class. Rosabelle was rather fond of sleep and liked to have as much as she could. Instead, she was lugging a telescope up to the tallest tower in the castle. At midnight.
Shifting her shoulders, Rose exchanged the telescope from one arm to the other as she started up the stairs. At this late, it was cool the moment she started climbing up the flight of stairs. Rose was rather grateful that she had decided at the last moment to risk possibly a detention and wore her prized sweatshirt over his typical sweater. It was much warmer that way and she wouldn’t freeze while up in the Astronomy Tower.
The tall Gryffindor girl paused in the doorway. No one was in the room except for—Rose jumped back a couple steps and almost fell back into the stairs when she spotted the wolf. It sat there, black fur standing out against the silver moonlight. What the hell was a wolf doing in here? Then, Rose saw the message suspended in midair, glowing as if it were made of flames. It said to set up the telescope and turn to chapter one, she would be with them shortly. Oh yeah, and not to mind the wolf.
“How in hell’s name am I supposed to ignore it?” Rose muttered, keeping close to the wall and giving the gigantic canine room. Even Rose, who had grown up with big dogs her entire life was still wary of the wild animal. She knew all too well that it would bite her hand off if given the chance. ‘Note to self, this teacher is insane.’ The girl thought, starting to set up her telescope.

Upon the arrival of one Student Kassie in her wolf form watched the Gryffindor student idly before turning back to the door It was getting closer for class to start, and Kassie did not like starting class late because well class was held at midnight and kept students up later than necessary. Standing on all fours she figured Class would need to start now and was a bit saddened many of her other students had not shown. There was more than one student on her roster. Well unless they came in late they would most likely be getting a earful from her even if it was the first class. Shifting she spoke to the gryffindor girl,
"I do hope your not the only one for first lesson. I know I had more than a lone gryffindor on my student list."
She spoke as she swatted the floating message away with her hand and adjusted her shirt and smoothed her skirt out Her black hair was pinned back in a loose half up half down style gently falling in waves as her brown eyes landed on the gryffindor girl as she approached her. looking at the roster she spoke,
"Well you must be Rosabelle Ross, cause your definitely not a first year. Who is for the time being the only other student from Gryffindor on my list. But allow me to introduce myself I am Professor Bently. You may call me that or you may call me Professor Kassie. Which ever you prefer as I don't get my feathers ruffled if Students use my first name as long as I am still called professor. Glad you showed for class. We'll give it another moment or so and then start."

Rose turned around just in time to watch the black wolf shift shapes. Surprised was an understatement for what the girl felt as she leapt back with her heart jumping into her throat. Her back hit her telescope and she had to whirl around on her feet to catch it before it fell. Her knees strained at the quick movement, genetically bad, they would be sore for a while after such sharp movements. Finally, once her heart started again, the Gryffindor girl peered back around her shoulder to now see her teacher.
The girl had yet to formally meet her teacher, she had only seen the woman at meals. "Well you must be Rosabelle Ross, cause your definitely not a first year.” The teacher said, looking at her roster.
Trying to slow her heart rate, Rose leaned against the railing of the tower and nodded slowly. “That would be me.” She panted. “And sorry, I’m kind of a jumpy person.”
[/b]She apologized, giving a weary smile. Now, with her almost heart attack and it being midnight, she would be a wreck in the morning. Again, the Gryffindor had no idea why she even enrolled in this class. It seemed to be a huge mistake now. Except for the fact her teacher was an animagus. Rose had heard many times about this certain talent, to turn into an animal at will. That had always been a topic Rose had been interested in. ‘Maybe if there is ever time, I can ask her about it.’ The girl thought as she ran a hand through her messy blonde hair and adjusting her glasses that went a bit askew.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Allison and midnight were pretty good friends, but for multiple reasons. There were nights when she was up and about for this very class and other times for a little sneaking out. This wasn’t her first year of Astronomy, she’d been taking it since first year. She was pretty sure that failure to take this class religiously would result in a lecture from her of the occult mother. Her mother wasn’t the strictest of mothers, but she could be the most annoying when it came to certain things especially lectures. They tended to last at least ten or so minutes if not longer if she was in a rather generous mood. She walked into the classroom, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. “Sorry if I’m late. I got…tied up.” Allison lied. She had been tied up, but not for academic reasons. She had decided to take a little smoking break near the forest. It wasn’t that close to the Astronomy tower so the walk had made her late. Not that she regretted it. She did however regret that she hadn’t used a charm to air out her close so if the teacher decided to sniff her. Well she’d be caught and that was something she wasn’t in the mood for today.
Not waiting for a response Allison set up shop. She had telescope put together and pointing out towards the sky with her book in hand. “Ready to begin professor.” She said happily. She liked the class even if it wasn’t being taken by choice.

Sienna stifled a yawn, trudging up the long staircase into the Astronomy class. What possessed the powers that be to put that subject in her curriculum she could NOT imagine. Astronomy was an okay class as far as Sienna was concerned – just the fact that it was usually held at midnight was her only cause for concern. She was a growing girl, you know?
She sighed, torn between continuing up the stairs and returning to her delightful bed where for once, Eden Fletcher wasn’t screaming. The one time that girl decides to have a peaceful night is the one when I have to go out and watch stars. Argh. thought Sienna, grumbling. Arriving in the room, she found two students and their professor... one was a Gryffindor girl that Sienna had seen in the common room and the other was a classmate in Muggle Studies. Oh no, it’s the crazy girl... thought Sienna.
This was probably not going to be a good class. But it had potential for sneaky stuff, especially since this was the only class wherein they would be allowed to go outside the common room late at night. This could be useful... and I’ll think of a use. When my brain starts working. Some time in the next few hours.
Sienna stifled another yawn, then settled into her seat with the telescope and her book.

Kassie was standing arms crossed waiting for the rest of her class to arrive. Sadly Not many decided to take her class but when the majority did arrive she smiled and spoke, hoping they were awake and alert. she took note the first year seemed a bit out of it.
"Right, welcome to astronomy class. I'm Professor Bently. You may also refer to me as Professor Kassie. Which ever fits your fancy, and I am not picky about being called by my first name, by students as long as Professor is still present in front of it. Now I hope your all awake. As this is first class and I know not all of you are use to being up at midnight for classes unless you've taken this class before. Now we're gonna start with basics. Nothing Fancy as this is after all first class and I don't want to over whelm you or make your brains hurt to much."
She hopped up on the edge of the wall and sat legs crossed using her wand to make balls that looked like planets fly from her bag that leaned against the opposite wall from where she sat. The balls immediately began orbiting in order in the center of the tower.
"People define Astronomy as ” “the study of objects and matter outside the earth's atmosphere and of their physical and chemical properties.” Truthfully, though, you could say that astronomy is the study of everything, because everything is a part of the Universe."
"There are many fields within Astronomy. Cosmologists study the Universe as a whole, including its beginnings. Astrometrists measure great distances. Planetologists study planets within our own Solar System as well as those orbiting distant stars. Radio Astronomers use radio-telescopes to study the Universe. There are also Mathematical Astronomers who use numbers, calculations and statistics to explain the universe."
"Astronomy is not a “stand-alone” science. It combines areas from a number of other fields, including mathematics, chemistry, geology, biology and physics. In fact, physics is such an integral part of the field that many astronomers are also known as Astrophysicists."
"Why should we study the Universe? You might ask. As we said earlier, everything is part of the Universe, and that includes us. That's right. You are part of the Universe, everything is. We live on a planet, Earth. The Earth circles the Sun, which is a star called Sol, and just like all the other stars it is part of Outer Space. Hopefully, as you learn more about the subject, you’ll appreciate just how much astronomy has affected and continues to affect your life."
Kassie spoke as she stood and rounded up her opening speech that turned out longer than she wanted no matter how she worded it out. She Flicked her wand and the planets continued to rotate on their own as she pocketed her wand,
"Now the planets are just for show right now but planets are elementary really. So easy question for five points to your house. Can anyone tell me the planets here in order from closest to the sun to furthest away from the sun. Then we shall really get into the lesson."
She looked at her students and pointed to the first year who seemed less alert,
"Miss Andormeran. Can you please answer the question."
She asked with a friendly smile.
