It was raining in London...wait let me try that again, it's always raining in London. Sammy was walking out of the St. Mungos Wizarding Hospital wearing a long black cloak that was buttoned up, some black high heal shoes, a black purse in one hand, and an umbrella in the other. She had just finished paying for her monthly supply of blood. Because of the rain and the umbrella, her very pale skin didn't show. She had put a spell on her purse so that it held more than it looked like it could. All the blood that she had just bought was in her purse. She hated for people to know that she was a vampire, she hated the way that they treated her differently or just plane ran away. So she did her best to keep it hidden. There where a lot of people running around that day, well a lot for a rainy day. She would have to be careful not to run into anyone. Even though the sun wouldn't show her very pale skin today, her being cold to the touch would.

Scarlet loved the rain. She didn't go out often anymore, instead locking herself away deep in the underground tunnels of London, but when she did she went out in the rain. The smell of it, the sound of it, the cold, sweet feeling of the drops hitting her body. The rain made sense to Scar, in a world where very little did. The rain was the one pure thing she didn't want to destory.
The Shadow Lady sat out on the sidewalks of London, her dark hair covering her eyes as the world buzzed around her. They paid her no mind; for the amount of power Scarlet had gained in the last few months, she had made no demands. She hadn't bothered to proclaim herself some powerful leader, the most powerful creature in the night. She didn't need to, because she didn't want anything from these people All she wanted was for them to accept their fate.
The slight empathic abilities of the witch stuttered as someone walked past. Her head snapped up, looking around for the disturbance. Her black eyes stopped on a lithe blond woman, stalking past in her all black and umbrella. She seemed normal enough; what had caused the disturbance in this woman? Was she like the others Scar had reached, or was she something different? Something supernatural, even for this world. Either way, the dark witch's interest was sparked.
Scar stumbled to her feet, following quietly behind the woman with a slump in her walk. With her ragged robes, dark matted hair and vicious gleam in her eye, Scarlet often went unnoticed as homeless, a Wizarding urchin. This woman would do the same, ignore her as she ventured off to find someplace dry.

As Sammy walked past all the people, the blood that ran just under their skin was pulsing, a sound that was deafening to Sammy. It had only been a year since she had been turned, she was still having troubles keeping her blood lust under control. Of course to every other person walking in the rain that day she was just another witch. So Sammy kept her cool and continued walking.
Up ahead of Sammy was two boys, they looked a lot alike, must have been brothers, they where playing. This would have been nothing to notice, but one of the brothers threw a spell at the other, it missed and hit the street lamp. The street lamp rumbled and creeked, then started falling towards Sammy. The boys ran off, scared of getting into trouble. Sammy moved out of the way of the lamp, not knowing that someone was following her. Sammy turned just in time to see that there was a woman that was standing behind her. At this point two things ran through Sammy's mind...'Either I can take the time to get my wand out of my purse and risk the lamp falling on her or I could just grab it. With my strength it will fell like a house floor lamp.' Finally Sammy decided to just grab the lamp. Sammy rushed forward, grabbing the lamp as it was about an inch from the lady. "Are you alright?" Sammy asked her, wanting to make sure that she had caught it in time. While Sammy stood there with this lamp in her arms, waiting for the woman to answer, she looked like she could have stood there forever.

Scarlet stumbled backwards as she saw the spell hit the pole, her own reflexes surprisingly strong in comparison to how she normally moved. Apparently she didn't need to step out of the way, however, as the strange woman caught the lamp post. Scarlet examined the woman up and down, her black eyes analytical as the woman held the post. She asked if Scar was okay, but it seemed as though the witch didn't hear her.
Time for the Shadow Lady to stop following.
Scarlet met the eyes of the blonde woman, holding her gaze for a moment before stumbling forward down the road once more. She stumbled into a shop a few blocks away, pushing through the door and into the store. Before the blonde woman could see where she went, Scar disappeared behind the shop private area.
the Book-keepers, the shop sign said. Not a particularly creative title for a store, but it got the point across.

After asking the woman if she was ok she ran off. Sammy couldn't tell where it was that she had run off to, but if she was running off somewhere she had to be ok. It was still odd though, why would the woman not thank her? Sammy put the lamp back where it belonged and welded it into place with her wand. She then put her wand back into her purse and continued heading down the street. Sammy's mind then wandered off on to another subject, forgetting almost all together about the woman she had just saved.
Sammy was a little bit farther down the street now, when a pile of books outside of a store caught her eye. She walked over to the pile of books and started looking through them, one finally caught her fancy. It was called: "How to keep your hunger under control!" Sammy looked up at the sign in front of the store, it was: "The Book-Keepers!" Sammy walked in and headed for the cash register.
