Other Information-
History-
Shannon is the youngest of six children, four girls and two boys. Their parents, Liam and Wilhelmina MacDuff, were honest hard-working people, though they knew they had a great inheritance due to their strong MacDuff blood. They raised their children to be kind and polite, but never to back down when it came to their beliefs. The children had a happy childhood, with Shannon growing closest to her older brother, Gannon, who was closest to her in age.
The MacDuff family were stark revolutionaries, protesting and fighting for their rights as squibs. Shannon attended many protests with her parents and siblings in her childhood, fighting proudly alongside her family for the squibs' rights to participate in the magical world.
Then, one day, a Hogwarts letter arrived at the MacDuff residence. The family was incredulous; the fact that one of their own, these proud squibs, had magic? A rift started between Shannon and the rest of her family as she chose to attend Hogwarts, leaving her non-magical family behind her.
She prospered quite well at Hogwarts, specifically in Charms, Ancient Runes, and Magical History. She made a great many friends, but was secretly very self-conscious. She hated the fact that she had magic, that she was different from the rest of her family. She knew her brothers and sisters resented her for it. Shannon would catch a glare even from her parents, every now and then. After graduation, Shannon found her self drifting away back into the muggle world choosing to have her family behind her over the power she had never asked for.
Back in the muggle world, Shannon worked many odd jobs, writing and painting in her spare time. She lived happily with her large family, continuing her activism alongside her parents and siblings. She stopped using magic, stashing her wand away to keep the resentment out of her family's eyes.
At a protest one night, however, things became violent. A group of old Death Eaters, sick of the squibs' protests, lashed out against the group. Chaos was everywhere in the group, non-magical beings running from their powerful opposition. Shannon was able to defend herself and some others with some adrenaline-fueled wandless magic, but it wasn't enough. After the fight died down, her brother Gannon was found, cursed to death in the crossfire. Shannon's family couldn't forgive her; she had managed to save herself with her magic, but she couldn't--wouldn't--defend her own blood? The MacDuff's cut ties with Shannon, banishing her from the family. Hurt by her family's betrayal, Shannon retreated into the magical world, doing any work that came to her to keep her mind off of the emotional pain.
It has been over two years since the riot that killed her brother, and Shannon has been busy. She worked full-time in Flourish and Blotts, writing a fiction novella in her spare time. After her novella was published, the Daily Prophet took notice in her and picked her up as a secretary, with possibilities for promotion. Now, Shannon has goals; she wants to work as a reporter, getting opinions and ideas out to the masses. Maybe even with her power she can make her parents proud, bringing honor and rights to the squib population of the Wizarding World.
