Name: Tor ("Tor" is Old Norse for Thunder. Like Tor's parents, he carries a single name with no middle or surname.)
Age: 33
Birthdate/place: [06-09-1987], The Cuillin, Isle of Skye, Scotland
Species: Half Human, Half Elf
Blood Status: Half-Blooded
Gender: Male
Family: Tor is the son of a human wizard (a druid, named Conall) and an Elf (a healer, Castiel). Like his family, he moves and settles with the restless wind, knowing that his place in time is falling as it should. He feels "related by fate," having strong and unbreakable connections with those he meets along his path. One such example is James Black, whom Tor first met while walking the Forbidden Forest, and a student named Eden, whom he first encountered in a dream. Tor feels extremely protective of both.
Appearance:
Build/height- Tor is 5'11" with strong shoulders and a mesomorphic build, much like his father. He is athletic and muscular yet surprisingly agile.
General Description- Tor has nimbus-grey eyes and dark blonde hair, that is cut short and spiked off his face. Tor dislikes having his face hidden or head covered and therefore he chooses not to use the hood of his dark grey wool cloak. More often than not, Tor wears muggle-type clothing instead of wizard wear or the clothes of his other proud ancestry: the Elves. He adores blue and black and with the exception of one olive-toned t-shirt, every piece of clothing he owns is one of these colors. Tor is fair in his complexion. His skin has been spared over-exposure to the sun in his preference for the darker reaches of his study and overcast days. Tor's almost ethereal complexion in addition to his slightly pointed ears are the only visual characteristics he has inherited from his Elven roots.
Possessions- Tor's study is filled with the items one might expect a Divinations professor to own. He has a vast collection of quartz-based seeing orbs, incense lanterns, candles, and stores of natural materials, which he uses to enhance his gift. Tor owns a grey tabby cat named Istari.
Personality:
Temperment/Mental Attributes- Tor is exceptionally patient, open-minded and understanding. His empathy is often regarded by colleagues and students and he's been known to shed tears for those lost - human or animal. Tor is also an introvert. He feels out of place in large groups of people and communes more comfortably with thestrals. Tor sees events before they happen and warns of future truths. He is both a dear friend and an mystery.
Alliance- Order of the Phoenix
Strengths/Weaknesses- Tor's greatest strength is his ability to interpret that which he "sees" and to share that information in a way that can be understood by others. He is a trusted and soft-hearted ally - someone who would go to the ends of the earth to help and protect you. He is also very patient with his students and has been labelled a desirable professor. Tor's greatest weakness is his inability to connect socially. He has few close friends, but those he does have are loved and cherished. He is easily turned away to the solitude of his study and he dislikes attention to his personal life. Tor is a strong seer, healer and fighter but often falls victim to "healer's shoulders," which bear the weight of that which is shed upon them.

He has donated his personal collection of books on Divination to the Hogwarts library and serves as a counsellor to students and colleagues in need. He ends every class by telling his students to listen faithfully to the wind and without bias.
History- Tor was born to Conall and Castiel in the Isle of Skye of Scotland. Both of his parents were nomadic, and instilled upon their son the importance of connecting with one's surroundings. He was loved and loved in return and grew to commune with nature. Tor possessed at an early age the magical skills inherent in his mom and dad: he had a natural ability to see things that had not yet come to pass and had the gift of healing, which brought peace to those in need. Tor attended Hogwarts (his father once instructed there) and spent his summer's amongst his mother's people, the Elves of Northern Scotland.
Tor was that much different that his time at Hogwarts was marred by moments of poor interactions; several students found him strange and some preferred not to deal with him at all, for he appeared to talk to absent air and thestrals, which they could not see. For Tor, this was entirely acceptable: he preferred his solitude anyway. Tor bonded with his Divination professor, who was a tad loopy herself, and even served as her teaching assistant in his final year. On his off days, he would polish the orbs in the classroom and would often see things through the crystal that would later come to be.
Tor graduated with high marks from Hogwarts and spent several years with his mother's family to learn as one of the Elves. Tor used a seeing pool in one of the final tasks of his rite of passage and was presented with the vision of a coyote, which Tor knew to represent the spirit of a teacher. The voice of Tor's female guide came in to his mind:
"But you already knew that."
At the end of his journey, Tor applied for a position at Hogwarts. He was honoured to take over as Divination professor for his former teacher, whom was retiring. Her original quartz orb still sits in the centre of the classroom in homage to her and her teachings. Tor regards her as one of the finest witches to have ever lived.
Tor served faithfully as a member of the Order of the Phoenix and remains loyal to that cause.
