Name: Matthew Remy Finch
Age: 16
Birthdate/place: November 5, 2003 // San Francisco, California
Species: Human, Muggle-born
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Build/height- Average height, very thin, about 5'8"
General Description- Matt is, as already mentioned, of average height but exceptionally skinny. He has soft, thin hair that's halfway between brown and blond, a pleasant if forgettable face, and the muscular composition of a grapevine. This is largely because of his general disinterest with sports and the like. Most of his strength is concentrated in his upper body, where he can use it to play music like he so incessantly does. His eyes also seem to be half-closed most of the time, giving him a slightly sleepy appearance that belies his exuberance.
Possessions- A guitar, a harmonica, and a rat named Gomez.
Personality:
Temperment/Mental Attributes- The best description of Matt is "happy at all costs." He generally has a jocular, witty and carefree spirit, going through life with the conviction that it might as well be fun. When others are in good spirits, his personality can make him quite popular, and he in fact thrives on making others enjoy themselves.
The problem with this is, it can be hard to make him serious when he needs to be. His response to troubled emotions in others is to simply get them to laugh it off; in himself, he simply buries it and moves on. If you break through his surface, though, you will make him mad--beware an angry Matt.

Other Information-
History- Matt was born to Muggle parents in San Francisco, California. His mother worked out of their house, writing commercial jingles and occasionally creating music for low-budget films; it was from her that he learned most of what he knows about music. His father was the main source of the family's income, though, so when he was transferred to London, the family picked up everything and moved with him. Matt was nine, old enough to decide San Francisco was a lot better than London. Eventually, the resentment for his new home subsided, but he's always retained the love, and accent, of California.
"You have been accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry" came as a shock to the Finch family, which had been quite unaware of Matt's abilities. While his parents still feel a little alienated by the magical world, Matt dove happily into it, reveling in all the quirks and marvels he'd never known existed. He managed to make the adjustment to his life at Hogwarts fairly well, thanks in no small part to his friendship with Nuriko Elswyth. And though he's made plenty of other friends in and out of Ravenclaw house, she remains his closest friend, even as he enters his sixth year of schooling.
