Name: Numbers Blaine Barr Age: Eleven Birthdate/place: [21-09-2008] London, England Species: Human Wizard Gender: Male Family: Father- Glen Barr (35, Architect, Muggle) Mother- Andrea Barr (37, Unemployed, Pureblood Witch, Ravenclaw Alumni) Brother- Rolland Barr (7, Student, Unknown) Sister- Leda Barr (5, Student, Unknown)
Appearance: Build/height- Numbers is tiny. He’s only a fraction of the boys his age. He only reaches to the chest of some of the older students. His legs are short and he is skinnier than a toothpick. He’s no short of pathetic in size and doesn’t seem to be growing any time soon. He is only 142 cm in height (4 feet and 8 inches), barely tall enough to ride most roller coasters at the amusement parks his father takes him. Then, he weighs around 36 kilograms (80 lbs), without a shirt, one could easily see his ribs. At times, it seems that puberty will never hit this boy.
Muscles are scarce on Numbers and looks to be the stereotypical nerd of school except for the lack of glasses. If left in only his boxers, one would be able to see all of the joints and most bones on this skinny boy. This isn’t because he doesn’t eat but just because of a metabolism that seems to be constantly working on overload.
General Description- [HAIR] Every time Numbers looks in the mirror, he is reminded of the fact that he looks like he got electrocuted. His hair stands on end at almost every angle. Along with its dark brown color, it often looks like it caught fire and left only bits to stick upright. Numbers blames the terrible haircuts his mother insists on giving him. He has tried to convince her to let him grow it out and when he does, it just looks worse. It becomes long and puffy, which to him is more terrible than if he let his mother mow it down with magic. He has also tried getting his mother to fix the texture with magic but she believes that the fluffy hair is adorable and refuses to use magic.
[EYES] His eyes are a bright green and are quite handsome. Too bad they contrast with his hair. Numbers’s bright eyes do not mix well with his dark hair and often give him an uneven look. His eyes are also so wide that they give him a deer-in-headlights look and he at times will try to hide this fact by half-closing them but it doesn’t really work like the way he imagines. Also, despite the fact that almost his entire family wears glasses besides his youngest brother; Numbers has so far escaped this fate. He has perfect vision but fears one day that he will also have to wear glasses.
[OTHER] Besides his small size, not much about Numbers really stands out. That is, unless you look close enough to the left side of his head. Past the brown fluff for hair, several small white scars can be seen. These are a result of a car accident when he was young. The glass in the car window ended up cutting up most of that side of his head. Some of the scars run past his hairline but are so minor that only in the right light can they be seen. He also bears some other marks from the accident such as a couple scars on his left shoulder and arm. Currently, he is also missing his right canine tooth because he started losing his baby teeth late and this one was the most recent to come out. He is also still in the process of losing some of his further back teeth.
[CLOTHING] Due to his upbringing in a mixture of the muggle world and the wizarding world, he is in comfortable in both kinds of dress. Though, it doesn’t matter which world those clothes come from because you can guarantee that they are bright in color. Neon colors, yellows, oranges, and pinks are abundant in Numbers’s wardrobe and as you can probably guess, he is not fond of the black robes he is required to wear at Hogwarts. So, whenever he gets the chance, he will wear his bright casual clothes. His choice of clothing doesn’t always match. Back at home, his mother would make sure, despite the number of loud prints and sickeningly bright colors, his pants always matched with his shirt and socks. Now, away from home and without a mother to sort through his clothes, often what Numbers is wearing does not match.
Possessions- One prized possession that Numbers owns is a bright pink hairclip. Now it may seem silly for a boy to carry one around or even at times wear it but his sister gave it to him. Throughout his childhood, Numbers was very close with his little sister, Leda. Since being separated from her while going to Hogwarts, she has given him her favorite hairclip and demanded that he wears it every day. Since he is an adolescent boy, he does not wear said hairclip to his classes but whenever he takes pictures to send to his family, he always makes sure he is wearing it. And whenever it is not in his hair, it is in his pocket.
A second is his cat. Zero is a white and black spotted cat that has been a pet of Numbers since he was very small. The young boy is unbelievably fond of his cat and constantly has it by his side at all times. Now at Hogwarts, when Numbers found out he can bring his cat with him, he jumped at the chance. In turn, Zero is very fond of Numbers and doesn’t mind the massive amounts of attention his owner gives him. This cat can also be seen following the young Hufflepuff around the castle.
Personality: Temperment/Mental Attributes- [FRIENDLY] Saying that Numbers is friendly is an understatement. He is more like the lonely dog that won’t leave you alone. This boy does not discriminate against looks, personality, age, or anything else in between. If you are living and breathing and willing to be his friend, then you are automatically his friend. Numbers is willing to talk to anyone and is always excited to be interacting with someone else. He also seems to not have a mean bone in his body, he doesn’t get mad at anyone and if all insults are accidental and because words came out wrong. If he ever does something cruel or harsh to someone, there is something wrong with him.
[EASILY FRUSTRATED] Even though Numbers does not get mad, he is easily frustrated. Little things irritate him and if he keeps screwing up at something, he often does not respond well. He will blow up at tiny things and often give up before he has barely started. At those times, he gets red-faced and very loud; yelling is common when Numbers gets to this point. The most common ways to get Numbers this worked up is with either a difficult project or spell that he cannot get right on his first try. He also doesn’t deal with multiple people yelling at him at once, reminiscence from his parents constantly shouting at one another. If someone is shouting at him or any other loud voice, he is often going to get just as loud and as angry.
[CLUELESS] Numbers is not the brightest crayon in the box, not by a long shot. Not only is learning an often struggle for Numbers but what is much worse is his inability to read people. He understands what voice tone implies and body language is supposed to tell a person but he has never learned how to read it. He struggles with understanding what people are really feeling under their masks and only knows when told directly to him. He is also a bit slow picking up on subtle hints and when being spoken to or when reading text, he must be flat out told things or he won’t understand. This gets to be a problem at times.
[BUSY] A busy Numbers is a happy Numbers. This boy loves to constantly have his hands in something or have a book sitting in his lap. When bored, Numbers can get a bit obnoxious and destructive, desperate for any activity, even if dangerous or harmful. That is why his parents allowed him to go to Hogwarts. New adventures help Numbers work through his problems and keep his busy so he doesn’t get into too much trouble. Many people learn this about the boy early, since if you meet him when bored, he often will talk nonstop. It seems at times he can talk for minutes on end without breathing. The truth is, something he will stop in the middle of the sentence just to take a deep breath, probably because he forgot to breathe.

History- Glen Barr didn’t always know that his children were destined to be magical. He just thought that when he was introduced to his future wife that she was a normal human being. It wasn’t until after their marriage and their first child, Numbers, was born that she told him. She was a witch and it was likely that their children too were going to possess that same magic. At first, Numbers’s father did not take the news well. He yelled and shouted and was unsure whether to trust his wife, despite the fact that she had proved that she was a witch several times to him.
When the dust finally settled, his parents were still together but their relationship was rocky and strained. The peace didn’t last long though, by the time that Numbers was two his parents had split. The young boy ended up in the care of his mother, spending his weekdays in the wizarding world but then given to his father’s care on the weekends, living in the muggle world. He was the definition of a child growing up in two worlds.
Going into his fourth year of age, there was an accident that would define Numbers for the rest of his life. He was in the car with his father when they were in an accident. The other car hit their car from the side, causing the young boy to hit his head and get a large number of the scars on his head and shoulder. Rushed to the hospital, the doctors said he was going to be fine except for the concern over the lump on his head. Memory problems, the doctors said, they feared that there would be some based on where Numbers hit his head.
Despite the terrible accident, one good thing came out of it. His parents got back together, falling in as much love as they had before the fight. Together, they worked together after the discovery of Numbers’s memory problem. One had formed and it seemed that he had a problem developing new memories, especially about faces and names. He was fine with people he had met before the accident but now, whenever he meets a new person, he often had to ‘meet’ them several times before remembering.
Even as these problems persisted, the family remained close. The two parents took care of their son together again and along the way had two more children. A young son and daughter that helped Numbers grow and over time proved to be the best thing for all of them. With his brother and sister, Numbers memory seemed to recover, even in the slightest. He was happier than he had been since the accident at it was good for the parents to see their eldest son more carefree.
Trouble stirred up again though when Numbers’s Hogwarts letter came. It was actually his father that was in favor for Numbers to go to the school. His mother was sorely against it. Andrea believed that Numbers needed to stay at home, where his problem could be kept under close watch and private tutors could be hired. Glen believed that it would be better for Numbers. He thought it could possibly help Numbers with his memory problems. He would have to study and work hard at remembering everything but in the end, it would be better for him.
In the end, Numbers did accept his invitation to Hogwarts. Upon arriving, he was sorted in Hufflepuff, despite his mother’s family’s heritage in Ravenclaw. Now, it’s all a matter of time to find out if Numbers does well at Hogwarts.
