Name: Alexander James Barker (Xander or Alex)
Age: 17
Birthdate/place: 27-10-2004]/London
Species: Human

Family: Halfblood
Father – Rhys Nicolas Barker, 44, Ministry of Magic Official

Sister – Aria Rose Barker, 13
Appearance:
Build/height- Xander is quite tall, with a height of six feet (or 183 centimetres). He weighs 75kg, but has a fairly athletic build.
General Description- As aforementioned, Alexander is tall with an athletic body. His sandy blonde hair, usually worn somewhat messily, is slightly longer than your average male’s. He has blue eyes and high cheekbones.
Alex’s confidence is made clear in his posture and the way he moves. He is usually seen with a group of others, loving to be the centre of attention, and most often has a cheerful grin or mischievous smirk on his face.
Possessions- A six year old female Toyger cat named Zilli, a top of the line Nimbus model broomstick
Personality:
Temperment/Mental Attributes- Alexander is rarely seen alone, usually with a group. He manages to fit in and get along with almost everyone. He is outgoing in all regards, quick to speak his mind and share his opinion strongly, always knowing what to say to provide a laugh or convince someone to do something or believe a lie and having no problem with approaching a girl. He uses the latter extensively; he is quite a player with the girls. He sees no reason to commit himself to a single person when he knows how to get them, and could get a few. While Xander is not cold-hearted or intentionally cruel, he doesn’t really understand why girls get upset that he acts that way. To him it’s no big deal, why not be with different people rather than just one? It’s general knowledge that he can be a bit of player, if they want to be involved with him they should understand that he’s not committing himself, and shouldn’t be upset about it afterwards. He can seem quite apathetic in this aspect.
Alex knows very well what his best traits are, and he thinks highly of himself for them; he is quite arrogant and egotistical. He can be very stubborn, thinking his ideas are probably better than anyone else’s. It’s true that he is, to some extent, intelligent. He could do quite well in school but prefers to spend his free time having fun than studying, which makes his grades a lot lower than the fairly good results he could achieve, though he is certainly no genius. When he does set his mind to something, though, James does as much as he can to assure it happens. He is very much determined and ambitious in some respects. He sees no reason not to lie or break rules to get where he wants to be.
Most of Xander’s aforementioned traits may seem more applicable to the average Slytherin than Gryffindor, and certainly, James’ has nearly as much of the stereotypical Slytherin personality as Gryffindor. However, he does do what he sees as right, and does not mean to do wrong. He has reasoning behind all of his actions that make sense to him, even when they can seem unfair or cruel to others. He is always one to daringly stand up for what he believes in, and courageously won’t stand for the occurrence or anything he doesn’t think is right. He is loyal to his friends, and while he may not remain loyal to women he tries to make them understand that is not his intentions if possible, and is something of a player because he doesn’t see any problem with that. He is very strong in his beliefs and will fight until the end for what he believes is right. He takes this trait of standing up for one’s beliefs as one that any honourable person should have. James is a cheerful, nonchalant person, and is quick to step up and offer help to someone upset or unhappy.

History-
Alexander James Barker was born into a fairly well off family living in a small, primarily wizarding town just out of London. He was the first child born to his parents Rhys and Andrea Barker after they had been married for one year. His parents had a relatively good relationship. His father was working in the Ministry of Magic while his mother was a professional Quidditch player, allowing him to be exposed to the sport from a young age.
His sister, Aria, was born when Xander was 4 years old. He doted on his little sister. As he matured, he was often expected to help take care of her as his parents led a very busy life, his father working long hours at the Ministry and his mother often having to leave for days at a time to attend Quidditch games, sometimes taking the children with her. While he enjoyed watching his mother play Quidditch and spending time with his sister, Alex learnt to appreciate any free time he had.
With a large extended family, he learnt to be social and how to work well with other people. He learnt to say the right thing and never be lost for words, to lie smoothly and be persuasive. Having mastered social skills and being the elder sibling, Xander managed to be fairly popular amongst his friends and tended to take on something of a leadership role.
During family gatherings and small games amongst other magical people in the town, he would often play competitive games of Quidditch. Alex had something of an affinity to the sport and really enjoyed it, competing in the children’s division of the sport in the local area. He grew to love playing sport in general, and was a very active and energetic child.
It was no surprise when his letter to Hogwarts arrived when Xander was 11. With a wizarding family, it had been expected that he be a wizard and attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Whilst both of Xander’s parents had been in Ravenclaw, the family had predicted he would end up in Gryffindor considering his personality, and so he did. He managed to befriend most of his year and was often known even by older students. He wanted to be friends with everybody, and he did his best to achieve this. It may not have been the case with the professors, however. Having grown up in a busy environment, by habit Alex used all of his free time having fun rather than studying. His teachers didn’t appreciate this, and when making excuses grew old and unbelievable, he became quite a back talker and mischievious. He did what he wanted, regardless of the rules. Due to his disorganisation and rebellious tendancies, while he didn’t fail any subjects, he never did particularly brilliant, except for in flying class and he did well enough in DADA and Charms. Naturally, he was involved with Quidditch from his early days in Hogwarts, having extra experience most of his classmates didn’t.
Being good at social interaction, popular, knowing his strengths and being fairly handsome and athletic, he became commonly admired amongst the girls by his third year. When he began returning the interest, having quite a few girls to choose from without much trouble, rather than choosing one he became something of a player, happy to flirt with any girl. While he had had a few girlfriends by seventh year, they had all been quite short term, as he liked to take advantage of his options rather than being stuck with one girl. As the years passed he also grew to love partying and night life. Balancing this with school caused his grades to fall further, but he managed to still seem cheerful as always, and kept up the partying.
