Name: Harmony Kaeden Ashford
Age: 16
Birthdate/place: [07-12-2006] in a coastal Australian village
Species: Human
Gender: Female
Family: Pure-blood father; half-blood mother; one elder brother (22) named Rian
Appearance:
Build/height- For such a big and overwhelmingly explosive personality, Moni is very small for her age- not necessarily too-skinny, just of a slender build that makes her fast and able to get into places other`s cant and earning her the sometimes-fond, sometimes-sarcastic nickname of 'Imp.'
General Description-Her long curls, a deep, almost burnished gold-blonde, are streaked obviously by the sun- the color is enhanced by a warm tan bestowed upon her by her upbringing on the Australian coast. High cheekbones make her bright eyes, a mixture of sapphire and silver-grey, stand out even more and appear larger, giving her a generally and extremely deceiving innocent look... One she appreciates greatly since it works perfectly for her purposes. A long, silvery scar- thin but prominent- curved along the backside of her left leg. Surprisingly for a teenage girl, she has very little care for primping or looks, choosing often to let her tawny lion`s mane of hair run wild, or occasionally making a feeble attempt to restrain it by pulling it back in a simple, messy bun.
Possessions- A sweet-tempered, harmless, tiny female Elf Owl ironically named Banshee- something quite telling of Moni's sense of humor. More often, she simply calls the owl Banni.
A tiny, enchanted stud earring- with a special charm she put together. Every time she does the spell, each time with a different name of a friend or loved one, the name is recorded in the earring. Whenever one of the recorded people is in some kind of danger, the stud buzzes rapidly to warn her.
Personality:
Temperament/Mental Attributes- Someone up above must have been laughing hysterically when Adelaide Ashford named her newborn daughter.
The word Harmony implies peace, serenity- hints at balance and calmness and tranquil forests and fairies dancing with their wildlife pals. Yet Moni couldn`t be any more the opposite of those traits that her name implies. Wild, trouble-making, and temperamental would be much more fitting. Pranks and jokes seem to run in Harmony`s blood; every opportunity given to her to play a prank and cause hilarity and uproar is one she snatches up eagerly. Her sense of humor is quick, bright, and sometimes rather sarcastic- but she has a gift for making people laugh and bringing humor into any situation, one of the few things she truly appreciates about herself. Now, most of her pranks aren`t MEANT to cause conflict, but more often then not, they do- and she`s just fine with that. Small as she is, one would expect Harmony to be all bark and no bite, but quite to the contrary, she`s more then willing to take on anyone who attempts to threaten her or those she cares about with a reckless abandon that prevents her from thinking too much about her action. Yet as negative as some of these traits might seem, Harmony is an extremely good-natured girl. Always with a grin on her face, boundless energy keeps her constantly on the move, always looking for a new adventure, some new joke to play, some new place to explore. Very few things can get her down, as a level of cheer constantly seems to emanate from her. Compassionate and loyal, she adores her friends and- despite what it may seem- does have a general level of respect for people as a whole (just not the concept of authority,) naturally wanting to help those in need. Although her temper is explosive and impossible to contain when it`s provoked, her Aussie-accented voice ringing through the hallways, it`s usually very hard to make her truly angry. She`s a people person who adores making new friends and, without an ounce of shyness in her, has no problem going up to random people and introducing herself.
However, the two things that infuriate her the most are injustice and those who try and harm those she cares about. No other student would dare pick on someone younger or weaker when she`s around, knowing she would take them in on a minute, be it with a repertoire of carefully chosen hexes or with her own fists- and nothing bothers her more then a liar, herself being brutally honest at times, making her never hesitate to call out someone making false claims. And, as fiercely as she can protect herself, she will defend her friends; loyalty is something bred into her bone and to get to her friends, one has to get through her first, which is surprisingly difficult. Moni can be hardheaded and stubborn at times, not listening to common sense if she truly feels it isn`t right; and her reckless lack of caring for her well-being in the face of helping others does get her into a fair bit of trouble. She hates the fact that her temper can be kindled so quickly at times, in a snap, and has been working on reining it in slightly, with a decent bit of success. A grinning trickster aptly nicknamed 'Imp,' a wildly-creative dreamer with a boundless imagination and energy, a determined protector against what are probably ridiculous odds; it`s nearly impossible to pin down Harmony`s personality to just a few simple traits.

However, if not, she would love to follow in her parents footsteps and become a photographer of magical creatures. Grudgingly, she has to admit that there is a certain draw to being able to explore as your profession, and hence can understand why her parents are away so much doing that job.
Other Information- Despite her brash personality and neverending smile, there is a part of Harmony that is extremely displeased with herself. Perhaps it was the way she grew up, never quite good enough, but she thinks lowly of herself and is constantly striving to make herself better, worthy of the attention she never had.
History- Harmony Ashford`s birth and the circumstances surrounding it aren`t all too spectacular. Born in a small wizarding town on the Australian coast, she knew from the beginning what she was, what she was going to be, and what her people could do. Moni`s parents were world - renowned photographers of magical creatures, famous for getting some of the only shots of Peruvian Vipertooth dragons, and were almost never home, constantly traveling around the world to see what else they could spot. Because her brother was several years older then her and as a result attending primary school, she was, in her younger childhood years, basically left to raise herself. She became extraordinarily independent, learning to cook her meals at the age of nine and run the house perfectly before she was eleven. From the beginning, her relationship with her brother Rian was tumultuous at very best; her personality clashed greatly with his spiteful, arrogant, and haughty one, making them constantly at each other`s throats. Although he had little regard for people and wasn`t one to go around making friends, it was clear from his earliest years that he was both powerful and talented; before Rian could speak, as the story their parents were constantly boasting about went, he was making stuffed toys disappear with a blink of his big grey eyes and lighting the furniture on fire with every childish hiccup. As he grew older, his power and talent grew and their parents began to fawn on him even more, showering him with praise around every corner and dousing him with gifts and pets and anything he could ever want. So overjoyed were their parents had having such a perfect model of a child- a child who could do no wrong in their eyes- that Harmony grew up in a towering, ever-present shadow. On the rare occasions their parents were around, Rian played his role to a tee- polite, sweet, humble, yet distinguished to a degree much past the other young wizards of his age.
Yet when they took off again, he treated Harmony with less respect then he would something disgusting one of their many pet cats had dragged in, so disdainful that he didn`t even speak cruel words to her but instead ignored her wholly. This didn`t bother her very much- no love lost, after all- but when their parents came home, it was a different story. She couldn`t stand the simpering veil he put in in their presence, yet because of him, she was almost ignored just as much by them as by her brother, so focused they were on him. They never treated her badly per-se, buying her all things she needed for school and such, but more often then not, didn`t notice her around no matter what she did. To them, they had one child; one bright, wonderful, glowing child. And despite the fact that she had grown up making sure she had a devil-may-care attitude about it all, brushing it off and finding comfort in friends instead of family, it hurt. By the time Harmony started at the small, private wizarding school in Sydney where Rian was finishing out his final year, he had broken every record for test scores the school had even had, had won every award available, was being offered jobs from Ministries around the world, and had been asked to join the school as a professor in training.
The was the point when the mischief-maker in her became fully-formed. She had always been reckless, a bit wild, talking back to teachers and such, but when their parents love for Rian became almost worship, she had started to resort to anything to get attention from them. It didn`t matter if it was yelling or punishment or fury- at least it would be something, some acknowledgment that she existed, that she wasn`t just a ghost. For months, it had no effect; when her parents were around, no matter how many owls they got home about how their daughter had hexed another boy`s mouth shut for a week or how she had blown up one of the classrooms, they simply didn`t notice. It got to the point where Harmony just played her pranks just because she found it fun, and liked seeing the laughter and amusement of her peers, despite the irritation and condescension of all the staff. But the year after Rian had graduated, Moni finally had her wish for attention granted. After a particularly nasty incident involving changing her Arithmetic professor`s wig into a rather vicious ferret, the school decided they simply couldn`t have her more and 'regretfully' informed her parents that she was being kicked out of the school. Their rage, when they arrived home, was like a maelstrom, yet Harmony took it all with a cheerful smile, much happier to be acknowledged then ignored, even if it was in this way.
The victory was short lived, however, when her parents decided that she needed to be somewhere more structured, with powerful wizards who could keep an eye on her, keep her out of trouble (as if!), and hopefully tame her a bit. Rian had gotten a job in Britain`s Ministry of Magic, doing an interning of sorts to find his niche; so, as punishment, Harmony was forced to pack up, say goodbye to her friends and Australia, and move to the much-cloudier, much less cheerful town of Liverpool. Happy that they were near Rian again and that he could 'watch over' his little sister if needed, her parents promptly took off again the second she was sent to Hogwarts. Things were different there- very, very different- but nothing as simple as a scene change could hold Harmony down for very long...
And this was quite right. From her very start at Hogwarts, as a third year, everyone knew she was trouble. Many students loved her for it- the prissier among them hated her for it- and the professors treated her with either a kind of grudging, exasperated fondness for the little fireball, or and general irritation that often reached the point where they punished her before she ever did anything wrong. But for a girl who just can`t stick to being good, it was often hard for the teachers to fault her- she may not ever do her homework, but she somehow manages to score high on exams and show a great proficiency in many subjects. Now, in her sixth year, Moni knows the castle like the back of her hand and truly is a force of nature to be watched out for...
