Name: Jaxon Bronx Pietri[/u]
Age: 28
Birthdate: November 17, 1992
Species: Human - Muggle-born
Gender: Male
Family:
Victor Brendon Jacobs - Jaxon's step-father [42]
Cara Donna Gialuca-Pietri - Jaxon's mother [45]
Lia Gialuca - Jaxon's maternal grandmother [77]
Abbrizzo Gialuca - Jaxon's maternal grandfather [deceased]
Donna Gianna Gialuca-Pietri - Jaxon's sister [26]
Bruno Michael Pietri - Jaxon's biological father [47]
Appearance:
Build/height- Fairly short for a male, around 5'7" and 156 pounds. An average weight for his height, Jaxon is neither bulky nor scrawny with narrow shoulders and small hips. Everything about him screams angles and edges but surprisingly, he is quite strong.
General Description-His light brown hair is longer than that of most men of his age and tends to 'flip' at the sides. His bangs give him the look of an unkempt eighteen year old, and the stubble on his chin and jaws only adds to Jaxon's immature look. This, coupled with his small stature, is a reason his students (usually males but there is an occasional female) think they can walk into class and order him around. Due to looking so young, he is often mistaken as a transfer student.
His eyes are a mixture of colors. Jaxon, who isn't too concerned with what color they are, pegs them as 'hazel' to make it simple. Depending on the lighting, they can range from green to blue to gray. Sometimes, the difference is so striking that it causes wizards and Muggles alike to stop to stare.
His teeth are exceedingly straight due to a Muggle dentist fixing them with braces before he had even reached Hogwarts age. Somewhere, he read of a charm that set them straight within minutes and he still seethes over three years of braces.
Bad mishaps (in childhood and during his adult life) have left scars over his body. On his right wrist is a large shining scar from a thestral. It had been so deep that individual markings from its teeth still remain. A thin scar runs across the noticeable lump on the bridge of his nose from an injured owl. The last runs through his left eyebrow, three lines where hair no longer grows, from an angry bowtruckle's sharp fingers.
Possessions- Jaxon has few possessions, being a very "earthy" sort of guy. Most of his belongings pertain to his job like textbooks about various magical creatures and a bow and arrow he keeps for emergencies. Other than that, the only thing he owns are his wand, robes, and comfortable Muggle clothing.
Personality:
Temperament/Mental Attributes- Mostly, Jaxon is an easy-going guy. He is a tad quiet at first, if one would meet him outside of Hogwarts. The passion he holds for his class and for teaching helps him to break free of his shell and he is animated in his movements, the Italian in him bringing out the wild gestures he is known for. If one was to talk to him and make his acquaintance, the shyness would fall away and he would act much more normal. Nothing makes him as cheery as teaching though. Without meaning to be, he is a joker. It sometimes gets him into trouble but he manages to squeeze his way out most of the time. Being younger than most of the staff pressures him to strive to please them.
Alliance- Good
Strengths/Weaknesses-
[li]Devotion to Hogwarts, his students, and the creatures that depend on him is one of Jaxon's biggest strengths. He encourages students to meet with him if they have a problem or if they'd just like to chat for a while. It is not uncommon to see him tending to the creatures in the Forbidden Forest in his spare time, nor is it out of the ordinary to see him rooting on his favorite team during Quidditch matches.
[/li][li]He is intelligent, but he is nowhere near being a genius. In his subject, Jaxon is an expert; however, in others, he may become completely baffled.
Weaknesses:
[/li][li]As stated in "Strengths", Jaxon is an intelligent being. This attribute only pertains to his subject, however. When confronted with Potions, for example, he freezes up due to the head injury he sustained as a first-year professor. The injury, caused by Dark Magic, makes it difficult for him to think deeply. Fortunately, it does not hinder his line of study, and so does not bother him often.
[/li][li]After his head injury, Jaxon found that casting spells (something he excelled at before) was difficult. He can still perform certain spells, but the highly-advanced spells he could once perform are lost to him such as Transfiguration of any kind. Because of this, he has resorted more to using his hands than his wand and considers himself "nearly a Squib".[/li][/ul]

History-
Jaxon was born in Venice, Italy in the heart of the Muggle world. Both parents were Muggles (his father Bruno, an American relocating to Italy, his mother Cara, a full-blooded resident), and so he grew up unaware of his true calling. He attended Muggle school until the age of ten. After school, it was not uncommon to see Jaxon and his younger sister Donna dashing around their grandparents' butcher shop, eager to carry items to storage or deliver packages to the restaurant across the street. Abbrizzo, his grandfather, fell ill and for months could not recover.[/blockquote][/size]
At the time of his grandfather's death, Jaxon was nearly eleven. Depressed from the loss, he fell into a dark mood and his grandmother, Lia, considered re-locating to lessen the blow. She felt that Britain, perhaps, would be better. A new start maybe would help them get back on their feet.
Lia, quite literally, packed up shop two days after her husband's death. She, like Jaxon, could no longer stand the home where so many memories thrived. Bruno, however, wanted to stay in Italy. The climate was just to his liking and he refused to move, even though his family pleaded for him to go along. Jaxon and Donna were heartbroken. The loss of their beloved grandfather and the abandonment of their father, within months of each other, robbed them of their childlike happiness. Just over a decade into life and he had already been gypped. He never spoke of his father again.
A few weeks after they arrived in Britain, Jaxon received his letter from Hogwarts. Words were not enough to express the happiness he felt. His mother, grandmother, and Donna whisked him to Diagon Alley, buying his books and other items in a frenzy. The month or two he had to wait before going to Hogwarts seemed like the longest he'd ever lived through.
His years at Hogwarts were mainly uneventful. He was the Chaser of Hufflepuff House for three years and didn't just play to win. Quidditch was fun and the rush he got from flying was like no other. Unfortunately, a nasty fall caused by a rough Ravenclaw player gave him a severe phobia of heights, and that put an end to that.
His studies were something he was extremely passionate about. Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Potions, he could do them all. This caused him to have few friends, but a few of his fellow classmates made a point to befriend him, which he is still thankful for. None of these classes really made him feel... at home. He was always scrambling to do something or other, and he was looking for a break.
Starting his third year, he took Care of Magical Creatures as an elective. He wasn't expecting it to go far, nothing more than a break from his more difficult classes. The class, however, lit a fire in him. Jaxon had always liked animals in the Muggle world; it was only fitting that he should fall into such a line of study. Devouring every book he could concerning the subject, he fixated on teaching proper care as a profession.
The professor was exceedingly pleased at his willingness to learn. He decided in his sixth year to set himself to the task of becoming a professor. When he returned home to tell his mother, he found that she was with a new man, Victor. Apparently, she'd had a divorce from Bruno. Victor was an awful wizarding brute, and Jaxon instantly disliked him. Especially after he told Jaxon that he wouldn't make a good teacher and to do something more with his life (like work for the Ministry alongside him).
Exchanging a few choice words with both Victor and his mother, he vowed never to return there. That night, he stayed with his grandmother, telling her of how his mother had treated him. Lia backed his decision with everything she had, forcing him to follow his heart and take control of his life. He did.
After he finished school, he returned to Hogwarts to apply for the Care of Magical Creatures professor job, which he received. The first year was rough, so much so that Jaxon contemplated quitting. The students were too rowdy and refused to listen to him. Eventually, he gained their respect and worked with them side-by-side.
A family member of Bellatrix Lestrange, still vengeful about her imprisonment, slipped into Hogwarts under the guise of needing to speak with a teacher. The man was crazed, ready to curse anyone who dared cross his path. Jaxon, unfortunately, was passing by and waved him a hello. Ever suspicious, the professor wanted to know who the man was. The man saw right through to his intentions and shot a Cruciatius Curse directly at his head. The St. Mungo's stay lasted months. Eventually, he was well enough to teach, but most of his ability to use his wizarding capacity had been destroyed. Thankfully, Jaxon was still allowed to teach his subject. The man was caught a half a year later under the name Scipio Selwynn-Dolohov and sent to Azkaban.
