Name: Scott Lane McCoy (Scottie) Age: Twenty-Six Birthdate/place: [31-10-1994] Cardiff, Wales Species: Human Gender: Male Family: Rosalie Hannah Young-McCoy (57, Housewife, Pureblood) Robert James McCoy (65, Retired, Pureblood) Dominic James McCoy (24, Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes, Pureblood)
Appearance: Build/height- Scott is skinny. And not in the sense that he is lean and fit, rather, Scott still resembles a lanky teenage boy. He does not have any meat on his bones and if he were to wear fitted clothing, a person would be able to see his ribs. To only add to his skinny image, the man is nearly as tall as a tree. Well, that’s exaggeration but it seems to be somewhat along those lines. In length, Scottie reaches 193 centimeters or six feet and four inches. On a scale, he is quite underweight for his size, only weighing 72 kilograms or 158 pounds. Though, Scott doesn’t seem to mind that he looks like the wind could blow him over. The reason behind his size is a mixture of genetics and the fact that Scottie never seems to have much of an appetite.
General Description- [HAIR] Scott’s natural hair color is brown but the color has long since changed. He originally started changing and dying his hair during his first year at Hogwarts, just to annoy his parents. Since then, he has never stopped. Also, the colors can be quite peculiar. It isn’t the normal browns, blondes, reds, and blacks. Instead, Scott enjoys turning his hair various shades of blues, yellows, greens, and just about any other color he can get his hands on. Originally, he used magic to change his hair color but since his love of muggle items and his discovery of hair dye, he has used that. Usually once to twice a month, he will change the color. Recently, his favorite has been a bright orange he discovered deep in the depths of a scary looking store in Muggle London. His hair is usually that color or a bright blue that he can only manage with his wand. Every few weeks, he switches off but most recently, his hair is either electric blue or pumpkin orange.
[EYES] Again, Scott’s natural eye color is also a dull brown but the colorful young wizard wasn’t happy with that. Soon after he started living in the muggle world at eighteen, he discovered colored contacts. So far, he has six pairs, ranging from bright blue to blood red. He is almost never seen without his contacts in because he hates his natural eye color. Also, half the time, his contacts do not match his hair; many believe he does this on purpose. Overall, students and others shouldn’t expect to ever see his natural eye color or nothing short of the strange and brightly colored contacts he owns.
[OTHER] One thing that is noticed after the fact that his hair and eyes are oddly colored are his hands. They are covered in burn scars and when asked about them, Scott doesn’t hesitate. He burned them over and over and over again in his apartment using muggle appliances. It is easy to say that Scottie was never very good at using them. He constantly burnt himself while he cooked, which he was never skilled at. Scottie also has numerous other scars from tampering and other misuse of muggle objects during his time as one. Though after seven years, the number of scars went down after he started becoming more skilled.
[CLOTHING] Despite his pureblood upbringing, Scott hates cloaks, robes, or any other form of traditional magical clothing. Instead, he prefers to be in muggle clothing, t-shirts and jeans most of the time. A bonus of teaching his subject, Muggle Studies, is that he actually has an excuse to where his favorite clothing in class. It is rare that one will ever see him in a cloak or robe and it is usually only for special occasions or where he is required to wear them. Also, based on his hair and eyes, this may not be surprising but Scott loves bright and loud clothing. Most of his clothes have crazy patterns from Hawaiian to some that not even Scott could identify. And around ninety-nine percent of the time, his clothes do not match with his hair.
Possessions- Scott has various objects from his muggle life that he often keeps on him or in his room. Plastered all over the walls of his classroom is a variety of posters ranging from bands to sports. He also still keeps his cell phone on him despite the fact that it no longer works on Hogwarts campus. Scott still has his laptop which again has to function inside the barriers of the school. He does still take it to Hogsmeade when he gets the chance so he can keep in contact with those he was close to in the muggle world.
Personality: Temperment/Mental Attributes- [ECCENTRIC & CHILDISH] In many ways, Scott is still very much a child. He has no sense of responsibility at times and it is rare that he actually behaves like an adult. It seems that he is still stuck in the years he went to Hogwarts. Though, it is not as if Scott doesn’t know this. Scottie is very aware that he acts this way and sometimes utilizes it to his advantage. Many think that he is harmless and a bit airy but often he is quite down to earth and often eavesdrops when others think he isn’t listening or isn’t paying attention. Also, it is quite obvious by the colors of his hair and eyes that Scott is nothing short of eccentric. He is full of little Idiosyncrasies and habits that to most people would see strange. Since his return to the wizarding world and Hogwarts, these have been funneled into how he teaches his class.
[REBELLIOUS] Due to the sheltered life that Scott had before his arrival at Hogwarts, a sense of rebellion was bred in the boy. He was always a trouble maker and was never afraid to express his opinion. Rules and conventions never seemed to apply to this boy and he constantly was breaking them when he could. Again, it was very obvious in his dress and his conduct that he had no interest following the normal. He always had to be himself and to show that he was an individual, not just another cold-hearted, snobby McCoy in the house of Slytherin. Scottie made sure that his family name never marked who he was. Rather, he became almost the opposite of the rest of his family.
[ENTHUSIASTIC] It doesn’t take much to excite Scott. Whenever there is something worth celebrating, he will party harder than everyone else. If there is something to be excited about, Scott will be jumping up and down in anticipation. There is very little that won’t cause Scottie to smile and for him to be happy. Actually, it is a difficult task to upset him and those who try often end up failing. This man also seems to enjoy expressing his feelings through yelling. Often, when he’s shouting or ‘talking loudly’ as he calls it, it usually doesn’t mean he’s angry. Rather, it is just how he expresses himself and he has a naturally loud voice.
[HARD-HEADED] Once Scott has made a decision, it is hard to change. Over the years, he has learned how to stick with his opinion and his decisions and not be swayed to do otherwise. Words will never work against him when his mind is made. Even if his decisions are reckless, dangerous, thoughtless, or just plain dumb, it is quite the task to get him off of that idea. Usually, it takes a person rather close to Scott and who understands how his mind works to get him to think things through. Even for them, it takes a great amount of effort. This also often causes Scott to hold a grudge. It is difficult to upset him but when someone does, it is hard to get him accept an apology.
Alliance- None, he has been too detached from the wizarding for too long to have any idea what is going on in politics. Alignment- Chaotic Neutral Strengths/Weaknesses- + Knowledge of Muggles + Using Muggle Appliances + Being Awesome + Understanding Students + Coming up with Excuses

History- Scott was born into a pureblood wizarding family, both of his parents from two long lines of wizards and witches proud of their pureblood status. Growing up, Scott didn’t have much freedom. His parents kept him inside the house most days and he wasn’t allowed to play with the other children outside. The only other people besides his parents and his brother that he came into contact with was the nanny, a pureblood witch herself, and a handful of relatives when they came to visit. The only company the boy had was the family dog and a small library full of books kept on the property. Until his first year of Hogwarts, the little boy spent all of his time inside studying in the books and finding new ways to torture his parents and younger brother. Overall, he tried to make himself as much of a nuisance as he could.
At first, his parents tried to restrain Scott, to teach him to be a proper gentleman. Yet, nothing seemed to work. Instead, their efforts seemed to do the exact opposite. He became rebellious, obnoxious, and destructive, never slowing down for a second with his efforts. So, with great joy, he was finally shipped off to Hogwarts at age eleven. There, unlike his parents thought, his reign of terror continued.
He was sorted in his parents’ old house of Slytherin, the last place Scott belonged. He constantly wreaked havoc upon his own house, finding new and improved ways to torture them form the books found in the library. He was never afraid to lose points from his own house or to get detentions. Also at Hogwarts, he learned that he wasn’t very good with magic, constantly failing any spell or potion related classes such as charms or transfiguration. Rather he excelled at classes such as Herbology, Astronomy, Divination , Care of Magical Creatures, and his all time favorite class, Muggle Studies. He started taking his class because he heard it was easy but soon found a love for muggles and their world. He wanted to know everything he could and was a regular to stay after class to have discussions with the teacher.
Immediately after graduating from Hogwarts, instead of taking the Ministry job his parents dug up for him, he disappeared. He severed all connections with family and friends and made it so he couldn’t be traced. Many thought that he had killed himself or committed a crime except for the few that knew of his plans but never spilled the truth. Instead, Scott had decided just before leaving Hogwarts that he was going to live in the Muggle world without any connections to the Wizarding world. With the little money that Scott was able to scrape up, he got an apartment in the center of Muggle London and got a job working as a waiter. There, he was able to learn from experience how to live among muggles and pretty much became one. He refused to use magic for anything and basically forgot he was a wizard.
That was until an owl arrived one day. A friend of his that knew where Scott was sent him a letter saying that his dream job was open at Hogwarts. They were looking for a Muggle Studies teacher. For days, Scott searched for his wand and the little amount of wizarding money and possessions he had left and headed to Hogwarts, dreaming of having the job he had wanted since his days at Hogwarts.
