Users Guide to Money on Incendio
Hello Incendians! This documentation is a quick guide on how you use the recently added money system in Incendio Potentialus. In this document, you find out how you can earn money as a student or as an unemployed/employed adult. You can also find here how to spend your money (and where) and all the cool things you can get! So read up and enjoy.[/center]
♠ INTRODUCTION TO MONEY
This is how money works in the Wizarding World:1 Galleon = 17 Sickles = 493 Knuts
Galleons are the gold ones, the sickles are silver and the knuts are bronze.
This is how money works in IP:10 posts = 1 Galleon
5 posts = 1 Sickle
1 post = 10 Knuts
1 post = 1 House Point

The award numbers will be given depending on how many awards the character has earned.
♠ EARNING MONEY
So how do we earn these shiny things called money? Well, one surefire way is posting and posting a LOT. However, there are also other methods of acquiring galleons and knuts that can add a fun dimension to our roleplaying life.
Adults
→ Employment - Adults can earn money for being employed. It can be contractual or it can be regular employment with regular wages. Check with your employer to see how much you earn in a month. Don't worry if there are disparities between what you're earning and what others are earning... wages are part of the story. ^_^
→ HP Trading - Since adults do not have a house, they can opt to trade in their house points for money or to a Hogwarts House that they support.
1 HP = 150 knuts
Students
→ Employment - During the winter and on vacations, students may also be employed by adults for odd jobs.
POSSIBLE EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS
Out of Character
→ Donations - Transfers of money or items between characters are also fun and encouraged. ^_^
→ Winning challenges - Occasionally, the site may post challenges or contests that we can all participate in. Winners will have their choice of awards.
→ of the Month - OTM characters and members will also get an award.
MONEY EARNED BY OTM
→ Posting in an empty board - 200 knuts
→ Advertising IP - 200 knuts
→ Participating in plot threads - 10 sickles per post
♠ SPENDING MONEY
So now that we know how to earn money, how do we spend them? Incendio Potentialus has a very special place to spend your hard-earned money: The Incendio Shopping Mall!
Within these threads and boards are stores of every kind that will cater to your every desire. There are in character shops with stuff that your character will find useful, whimsical or appeal to their homemaking side. There are also out-of-character shops that will give you character abilities or member privileges.
You as a character may also create a shop thread, provided that your inventory is unique and your character is also a shopkeeper. You may also want play out these purchases in the proper store, just to have a bit of fun.
To keep track of these shops, each IC Shopkeeper needs to make a thread in the Mall with the following information:
The Shelves (or whatever you wish to call them) - this thread will hold the inventory, what it is, what it does and how much stock is still available.
The Orders (or whatever you wish to call them) - this is where the characters or members will order the items. The information to be submitted in this thread includes (in a coded form) the buyer's name, what he/she bought, how much he/she bought and how much he/she is supposed to pay.
